25th: The first meaning of the unity of knowledge and action.
Article 26 of Deng Aimin's Annotation of Biography
Article 27 of Biography was engraved in Qin Long in the sixth year of Ming Dynasty.
Learning experience:
Egoism: that is, you only do things that are beneficial to you and make you comfortable, and are unwilling to do things that make you uncomfortable. This is called self-interest.
The first meaning of the unity of knowing and doing is to solve the internal drive and self-engine. (True knowledge will automatically publish itself)
The state that you can't stop and do it spontaneously is the state of unity of knowing and doing. To achieve this state, you must get rid of those selfish interests that hinder your true heart.
Teacher Jiang Zhongxue didn't write the title on this video, nor did he mark it as the first episode in the special edition of the Fellow Practitioners Manual. I marked the number of articles in the manual as I said.
Transcript of video episode 25: (In the transcript, the original words in the teacher's spoken language were added or deleted in some places for easy understanding)
When we talked about enlightenment in Longchang, we said that the most difficult thing to talk about in psychology is the unity of knowledge and action.
Many people have heard of the unity of knowing and doing, and the most easily misunderstood scene is to understand the unity of knowing and doing as' integrating theory with practice'. I have learned knowledge and must do it. This is called the unity of knowledge and action. But in fact, of course not.
The unity of knowledge and action has three meanings, and today we are going to talk about the first layer involved in the manual.
Lu's "knowledge is the beginning of a journey, what does it mean?"
In order to make it easier for everyone to understand, I prepared a prop today. There is water in the glass. Normally, when I pour this cup, it will come out, but the one I am holding now will not come out. Why?
Mr. Yangming made this metaphor very clear, saying that "knowledge" means water, and "doing" means that water will flow downwards. Water itself has this characteristic and will flow downwards.
Just like this cup, if it is tilted to a certain angle, the water in the cup will naturally flow downwards. But now the water in this cup, why doesn't it flow?
In that part of Xu Ailu, we also made it very clear: "Knowing and doing noumenon, as long as it is restored to its original appearance, will naturally do." We have said many times that this is spontaneous and cannot be stopped.
When we made up our minds, we said that your ambition was in place. When you wake up in the morning, you will never say it. Do you think I am busy?
You must be full of energy and do it immediately, automatically and spontaneously. If you can't do this, ambition must be blocked by something, that is, an obstacle is set on your knowing and doing ontology to stop it from going on.
If you are a leader, employees often say to you, "I know, I know, but he just won't do it." Others say, I know, I have to work hard to succeed, but he just doesn't work hard. What prevents them from knowing, understanding and knowing, but not doing it? What the hell is this?
Look, now let's look at this cup. If we want the water to flow out naturally, we have to take out the barrier stuffed in the cup. After taking out this barrier, the cup will naturally flow out as long as it is slightly tilted. Because "outflow" is the characteristic of water, water is knowledge, and it is enough to flow downwards, which is the characteristic itself. This is also the characteristic of knowing and doing ontology.
So what is stopping us from doing it?
In Mr. Yangming's words, it means having one's own privacy and material desires. We have been saying "with me" and "without me" before. What happened to me? Having me is selfish, self-righteous, arrogant and so on.
For example, if you are particularly lazy, it is actually egoism. What is egoism? That is to say, only do what is good for you, only do what is comfortable for you, and don't want to do what is uncomfortable for you. This is called self-interest. Selfishness needs no explanation. We have explained it many times before.
Just get rid of this selfishness, selfishness, materialism and arrogance in your heart and get rid of these barriers, just like that cup. As long as the obstacles are removed, the water will naturally flow out.
This is the first meaning of the integration of knowledge and practice, which solves the internal driving force and self-engine We want to do something. If you really want to do it, you can't stop it, can you?
Many people just talk and don't practice, because he just talks and doesn't really put it into action. He doesn't have enough internal drive, because something inside him prevents him from taking action at once.
Experience it yourself, try it, pull this obstacle away from your heart, and when it wears away a little, you will see how strong your execution, your motivation and your motivation to do it spontaneously are.
A person who really wants to work hard, a person who really wants to move towards his own goal, doesn't it mean that the whole world will make way for him?
Whether you really want to do it or not, you can't stop it. Whether you want to do it automatically depends on whether you have something in your heart.
