What does Zhinan's quatrain mean?
Original text:

The shade of ancient wood is a short awning, and the stick thistle helps me cross the east of the bridge.

The clothes are wet and the apricot blossoms are raining, and the face is not cold.

Translation:

Park the boat in the shade of an old tree on the shore; Walk across the east side of the bridge with crutches and enjoy the spring scenery.

The drizzle in the apricot blossom season, like deliberately wetting my clothes, kept raining; The breeze blowing on the face can no longer feel the chill, and the green wicker dances with the wind, which is particularly embarrassing.

Precautions:

System (x): join. Short canopy: A ship. Canopy, sail and boat are synonyms.

Chenopodium album: The inverted text of Chenopodium album. Chenopodium album and millet with erect stems can be used as crutches for the elderly.

Apricot Rain: Rain in the apricot blossom season around Tomb-Sweeping Day.

Yangliufeng: The ancients called the wind that came in response to the flowering period Hua Xinfeng. Twenty-four hours from slight cold to Grain Rain, every hour should be a kind of flower letter, collectively called "Twenty-four Hua Xinfeng". Among them, "Liu Hua" or "Willow Wind" is Tomb-Sweeping Day's last flower letter.

Creative background:

This poem describes the process of the author's visit, shows the softness and warmth of the spring breeze with anthropomorphic methods, and expresses the author's love for nature.

Appreciate:

The first sentence is "short eaves under the shadow of ancient trees" Old trees, old trees. Shadow. Shadow. Tie. Tie. A boat with a short canopy. I tied the boat under an old shade. It tells us that the author came out for a spring outing by boat. Moreover, this place has trees and water, so it is a good place to go. The old trees are shaded, and the covered boat implies that it will be warm and rainy in spring.

The second sentence is "crutches help me cross the East Bridge". Chenopodium truncatum, Chenopodium truncatum, Chenopodium truncatum is a kind of grass with hard stems, which is used as crutches. "Sticks and quinoa help me" is actually "I help sticks and quinoa". It is said that the Chenopodium supports me and is anthropomorphic, which highlights the role of Chenopodium and my feelings with it. I came to the east of the bridge with a quinoa stick. The writer got off the boat and walked on crutches. It can be seen that although the author is old, he is still very interested in traveling. In fact, on the way by boat, he was already enjoying the beautiful scenery of spring, and now he is hiking, showing the charm of spring.

The last two sentences mainly describe the spring outing, which reveals the beauty of spring in the interest of spring outing. So how beautiful is spring? The author gives a detailed description in the back.

Write about the scenery through your own feelings. At present, apricot blossoms are in full bloom, drizzling, willows are graceful and the breeze is blowing gently. The poet does not write flowers and trees from the front, but combines spring rain with apricot flowers and willows to express his demeanor, focusing on the words "wet" and "not cold" "I'm going to get wet" shows the scene where the drizzle seems to be there. The drizzle moistens the apricot flowers like Xia Wei steamed by clouds and smoke, and the flowers look more delicate and charming and red. The word "not cold" points out the season, saying that the spring breeze blows on the face with a faint warmth, and even the light and colorful scenes of slender wicker blown by the wind below show the pleasant spring. This expression makes the whole picture colorful and full of vitality. The poet walked eastward on crutches, red apricots and green willows burned, and the rain stained his clothes, which seemed wet but not wet. He felt a little cold when the breeze blew against his face. This is a patient and pleasant spring outing.

Always write the sentence of spring, or muddle through-"Easy to know the east wind, flowers always spring" (Zhu's "Spring Day"), or write in detail-"Mangroves bloom and birds sing, Pinghu grass grows and egrets fly" (Xu's "Lake"). This poem by Zhinan combines the two, which has a subtle description and feelings about the whole spring, and is full of joy. The poem is concise, rich in meaning, and makes people feel at home. Although poetic expressions such as "apricot blossom rain" and "Yangliufeng" have been widely used before, they have really become familiar words, thanks to Zhinan's two poems. The artistic conception described in the famous sentence "Apricot flowers spring rain in the south of the Yangtze River" in Yu Ji's masterpiece "The wind enters the pine" in Yuan Dynasty may be inspired by Lu You's poem "A small building listens to the spring rain all night, and a deep alley sells apricot flowers".

This poem describes the beautiful scenery of spring, not the general description of birds and flowers, mainly the wind and rain in spring. "Spring Breeze and Spring Rain" is also a common phenomenon, but the author writes it with color and taste, which is really touching. It reflects the exquisiteness of the author's observation and the skill of writing. Visible, seemingly simple words, after careful tempering, so full of charm. Based on his feelings, he wrote about his joy in spring outing, expressed his love for life, and also showed readers an infinitely beautiful world in spring.
