Mobile hard disks are divided into four types according to external interfaces: parallel interface, USB interface, IEEE 1394 interface and SATA interface. Most of their built-in interfaces are IDE interfaces, which are used with hard disks with IDE interfaces. These four types of interfaces have the following characteristics:

1, parallel hard disk box is the earliest hard disk box, which is connected to the computer through the parallel port of the computer. Its characteristics are high transmission speed and low price, but its disadvantage is that it is inconvenient to install and use and needs an independent switching power supply;

2. mobile hard disk box of 2.USB interface is the mainstream at present, and its biggest advantage is that it is easy to use and supports hot plug;

3.IEEE 1394 interface, also known as Friewine interface, has high data transmission rate. IEEE 1394a interface can provide 100Mbps, 200Mbps, 400Mbps and other transmission formats; IEEE 1394b can provide data transmission rate of 800 Mbps. IEEE 1394 was originally an interface on Apple computers, but it is relatively rare on ordinary desktop computers.

4.SATA interface adopts embedded clock signal, which has stronger error correction ability. Compared with the past, the biggest difference is that it can check the transmission instructions and correct the errors automatically when found, which greatly improves the reliability of data transmission.
