Not including Hanyang Iron Works. Hanyang Iron Works started construction at the foot of Guishan Mountain in Hubei Province on 1890, and was completed and put into operation on 1893. The whole plant includes six big factories, such as pig iron plant, Bessemer Iron and Steel Plant, Ximenshi Iron and Steel Plant, rail plant, iron products plant and wrought iron plant, and four small factories, such as machinery plant, cast iron plant, blacksmith plant and fish fillet hook nail plant. The initial funding was set at 2.46 million yuan, and 1892 the Qing government added 422,000 yuan. By the time of completion, the actual expenditure was about 5 million yuan. Due to poor planning, the purchased equipment is not suitable for refining the high phosphorus ore provided by Daye Iron Mine, and the steelmaking raw materials do not meet the requirements of railway rails, so the steel production is in trouble. 1April 896, the factory was changed into an official and commercial enterprise. 1898 to develop Pingxiang coal mine in Jiangxi province, in order to solve the problem of materials and equipment, Martin furnace was used to transform the smelting equipment of the whole plant and manufacture rails. Due to the huge cost of this transformation, 1898 made a loan to Germany, and 1899 signed the Mutual Sales Contract of Coal, Coke and Iron Ore with Japan. 1904 used Daye mine as collateral and borrowed Japanese capital continuously. Before the Revolution of 1911, there were 3 ironmaking furnaces and 6 steelmaking furnaces, with an annual output of about 80,000 tons of pig iron, nearly 40,000 tons of steel and more than 20,000 tons of rails. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, some smelting equipment of Hanyang Iron Works was moved to Chongqing, and the rest was occupied by the Japanese army. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the Kuomintang government accepted it as the liquidation of the enemy and puppet industries.
