Black Dragon was originally an old resident of Shahe River. There was a Dragon Palace 50 miles downstream of Shahe River, called the Old Dragon Nest, which later evolved into the "old nest", which is now Laowo Town in Zhaoling District. Huanglong, the dragon of Huaihe River, was repeatedly driven by evil deeds, so he went upstream and entered Shahe River from Huaihe River.
As the saying goes, two tigers are not allowed in one mountain. One river can't hold two strong dragons. Because Huanglong grew up in the Huaihe River, he is the dragon of the river. He is well-informed and huge. The little black dragon naturally fights. But he can only go upstream and escape to the upper reaches of 20 Li to rebuild a Dragon Palace called Black Dragon Pool, which is now Black Dragon Pool Township in Yancheng District. Although Huanglong occupied the "old nest" of the Black Dragon Palace, he was not satisfied with it. After a few days' rest, he went after the black dragon again, but the black dragon stayed at home and Huanglong was helpless.
Although the black dragon is afraid of Huanglong, it has to go out for food because of hunger. Halfway through Huanglong, the black dragon fled in defeat. Due to the urgency of hunting Huanglong, the black dragon could not return to the Dragon Palace, so it had to go upstream. When it fled to the position of Tieniu, it saw that the shallow river upstream was very narrow. If it swims any further, it will run aground. In desperation, I had to turn around and return.
When the black dragon turned around, it coincided with the arrival of Huanglong. When I saw this, I opened my mouth and pounced. I want to kill the black dragon. Because the black dragon was small and escaped lightly, the yellow dragon was big and exerted too much force, which washed away the riverbanks on the north bank of Shahe River. In an instant, the river surged down from the fracture, and everywhere it went, there was a piece of Wang Yang, which made the people suffer greatly.
Besides, the black dragon dodged a bullet and dared not go back to the Dragon Palace. But for the sake of food, I have to take another risk. This time is exactly the same as last time. When Huanglong once again fought with the Black Dragon, and the Black Dragon once again fled to Tieniu's position, the Black Dragon once again escaped the bite of Huanglong, and Huanglong once again washed away the riverbank on the north bank of Shahe, causing the river to flood ... Because Huanglong and Black Dragon fought hard repeatedly, Shahe also flooded repeatedly.
For many years, the black dragon has been living in fear in order to avoid Huanglong, and the people along the Shahe River have suffered from disasters. Later, in order to save his life, the black dragon thought hard and came up with a plan to give Fu Honglin, the magistrate of Yancheng County, a dream at night.
Since taking office, Fu Honglin has been worried about the constant flood. When he woke up in the morning, he remembered the dream of the black dragon last night and was ecstatic. He immediately called the county blacksmith * * * cast iron cow, which was completed in one day.
The next morning, when the fog was thick, Fu Honglin put the cast iron cow on the river bank. Not long after, Huanglong and Black Dragon fought here again. In the dense fog, Huanglong saw a buffalo sleeping on the river bank. Because buffalo has always been its favorite food, he gave up the black dragon, went straight to the buffalo and swallowed it in one gulp. After eating the iron cow, Huanglong felt unbearable abdominal pain. After rolling in the river for dozens of times, it finally calmed down-Huanglong was pierced by a pair of sharp horns of an iron cow and bled to death.
Seeing this, Fu Honglin, the county magistrate, led the people to the levee and cheered to celebrate the dragon slaughter. It wasn't long before I saw the iron buffalo surface. Everyone was puzzled, and the county magistrate told the reason. It turns out that although the iron cow is cast with pig iron, it is solid outside and hollow inside, naturally forming buoyancy. So, too many cooks pulled the iron cow to the shore and put it away. Today, it has a history of 172 years.
Since then, there has been no flood in Shahe section of Luohe City. In order to thank the iron ox for killing the dragon, people on the shore called the iron ox "He Zhen Tie Niu", a word "Niu", which expressed people's love and respect for the iron ox.
The word "Niu" in Luohe dialect is pronounced Niu (even), which has been called by the people since the year when the iron cow killed Huanglong.
