Suppose there is a small tumor on the left cheek, which needs to be removed by outpatient surgery. The blue marker points represent the location of the tumor. Dry the operating area with a dry cotton ball first, and then wipe the operating area with a cotton ball soaked in disinfectant (1% iodine tincture). When applying disinfectant, it should be rubbed around from the center of the operating area. Disinfected cotton balls that have come into contact with infected parts should not be wiped clean. If it is an infected wound, it should be applied to the infected wound from the periphery of the operating area. It should be noted that oral mucosa biopsy should not use colored drugs such as iodine to prevent tissue staining, and 70% alcohol can be used.
