Cao Kun sent troops to suppress and forced workers to return to work. The workers refused to give in. Zhengzhou railway workers launched a unity strike at this time, completely interrupting the north-south traffic of the Beijing-Han railway. Railway workers in Beijing-Suiyuan, Beijing-Zheng Feng and Zheng Tai also expressed their support for the strike of railway workers in Changxindian, and said that if the demands of the strikers are not met within three days, all roads will start a general strike. The strike lasted two days. On the 26th, the Railway Bureau was forced to negotiate with the workers' representatives, and agreed to all conditions except the workers' right to participate in the personnel affairs of the Railway Bureau. On the 26th, the workers officially resumed work.
