19 16. Due to poverty, my father Gu Baosu went to work in Shanghai. Gu Zhenghong herded cattle for the landlord at the age of 1 1. 192 1 10 in June, my hometown was flooded, and eight mothers and children begged all the way to Shanghai. My father works in an oil factory and can't support his family by earning money. Gu Zhenghong and his sister-in-law make a living by collecting cinders and garbage. Soon, the second brother starved to death.

17 years old, my father interceded and worked as a cleaner in the ninth cotton mill run by Japanese capitalists (now the fourth cotton mill in Shanghai). After working for several months, I didn't get a penny. He heard that the workshop "Namtsong" (foreman) deducted workers' wages, so he made an appointment with several partners. After a day's work, I waited on the way home from Namtsong and beat him up. As a result, Gu Zhenghong was fired by Japanese capitalists. Later, with the help of poor middle-class workers, I went to work in the loom workshop of the seventh cotton mill of Japanese merchants (now the second cotton mill of Shanghai). He often saw the crimes of Japanese capitalists beating and bullying workers, and his heart ignited the fire of hatred.

/kloc-in the summer of 0/922, the underground party held a night school for workers in Huxi, and established the Huxi Workers' Club. He took an active part in evening classes and community activities, and understood that only by organizing and persisting in struggle could the working class overthrow Japanese imperialism and capitalists. He soon became an active member of the club. Sometimes when the foreman is not in the workshop, he publicizes the revolutionary truth to the workers and inspires everyone to unite and fight against the capitalists. He also taught workers to sing revolutionary songs such as overthrowing warlords, local tyrants and evil gentry. 1In February, 925, more than 40,000 workers from 22 Japanese cotton mills in Shanghai, under the leadership of the Party, held a general strike to oppose the unreasonable dismissal of workers by Japanese capitalists. Gu Zhenghong took part in the picket of workers, actively publicized the significance of the strike to the workers, and exposed various crimes of imperialist exploitation and oppression of Chinese workers. He endured the tempering of struggle and gloriously joined the China * * * Production Party.

1925 may 15, Gu Zhenghong worked the night shift, only to see two big tiemenguan in the factory. The workers told him angrily, "The Japanese have closed the factory!" He rolled up his sleeves and said firmly, "Never go back without paying!" "Say that finish, he led a group of workers smashed the door. The iron gate was knocked down and hundreds of workers rushed into the factory shouting. Several hewen jumped up with batons filled with lead, and several workers were killed on the spot. He shouted, "The Japanese have hit people!" While leading the workers to the material warehouse, each of them bravely rushed at the enemy with a "side stick". Yuan Mu, vice president of internal and external cotton, and Kawamura, vice president of No.7 Factory, came with guns, followed by a large mob. He ran ahead of the workers and shouted, "Oppose Japanese oppression of workers!" Japanese capitalists shot at Gu Zhenghong violently, and the bullet hit his left leg, which was bloody. He endured the pain and shouted, "Workers, let's unite and fight to the end!" " Kawamura fired again and hit him in the abdomen. He grasped a small tree beside him, stood up, endured severe pain, and continued to call on the workers to persist in their struggle. The executioner Kawamura fired two more shots at him, and one of his minions cut off his head with a knife. He stumbled in a pool of blood. The workers were very angry. They bravely fought the enemy with sharp sticks. The murderers Kawamura and Yuan Mu fled under the cover of armed patrol. The workers hurried to find a rickshaw and carried him to it. The workers of the brigade escorted him around the rickshaw, and the citizens along the way automatically joined the escort and became a huge demonstration team. /kloc-in may of 0/6, he died heroically because of his injuries, only 20 years old.

His heroic sacrifice ignited the anti-imperialist anger of Shanghai workers and became the fuse of the May 30th Movement. On the same day, more than 20,000 workers of the Japanese cotton mill in Huxi declared a strike, and put forward conditions such as punishing the murderer and paying compensation. On May 24th, Shanghai underground party organized a city-wide memorial meeting for Gu Zhenghong martyrs, which was attended by more than 10,000 workers, students and representatives from all walks of life. The public sacrifice venue in Tanziwan has become a white sea, surrounded by elegiac couplets, banners and condolence plaques of various trade unions. On the white curtain in the middle of the venue hung the portrait of the martyr, and the elegiac couplets on both sides were: "Although Mr. is dead, his spirit will not die!" The murderer is still there, where is justice! " The banner is the word "worker pioneer". Behind the curtain, the martyr's coffin is parked, covered with a piece of white silk, which reads "The Oriental killed China!" Eight big characters. The whole venue was shrouded in a solemn and tragic atmosphere, "Revenge for the martyrs of Gu Zhenghong!" "Down with Japanese imperialism!" Slogans, one after another. On May 30th, a large-scale anti-imperialist demonstration broke out in Shanghai. Workers go on strike, students go on strike and businessmen go on strike. The May 30th anti-imperialist patriotic movement, which shocked China and foreign countries, burned all over Shanghai like a volcano and swept through China. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the Party and the government established the Gu Zhenghong Martyrs Memorial Hall in Shanghai, and its hometown was named Zheng Hong Township and Zheng Hong Village.
