As a modern art school, minimalism appeared and became popular in 1950s and 1960s, mainly in the field of painting. Minimalism advocates simplifying the painting language to only the relationship between color and shape, simplifying the picture with very few colors and images, and discarding all unnecessary things that interfere with the subject.
As a lifestyle or fashion style, minimalism didn't become fashionable until 1990s. /kloc-there was a slogan "return to nature" in the 1990 s, which was enough to be a companion piece with "return to nature" in the 1980 s. Regression is the only choice that contemporary people feel puzzled, which basically refers to the basic elements. The fans of the 1990s will not return to Victorian values, but will choose something related to minimalism.
Minimalist fashion needs little decoration, and fashion designers who believe in minimalism are good at subtraction. They took all the superfluous things from their clothes. If the second button can't find a reason to exist, then they make a button; If this button is not necessary, then they say simply let people wear buttonless shirts; If the texture of the fabric itself is attractive enough, then they do not need printing, jacquard and embroidery; If the fabric pattern is really beautiful, then they will naturally not sew, store and roll easily; If the wearer's figure is so symmetrical, then they will never design another silhouette. At this time, the figure of a person is the best silhouette; If wearing the author's face makes people's eyes linger for a long time, then they will never distract this attention with fancy clothes. Contour is the first element of design, and we should not only consider our own proportion, rhythm and balance, but also consider the harmonious relationship with the ideal image of the human body. This kind of well-designed profile often needs exquisite materials to express, and it is completed by precise structure (plate type) and precise technology. Minimalism is actually an important feature of women's wear in the 1990s. Minimalism is humanism, and we believe that clothing is attached to people. Since clothing is the second layer of skin, it can only be the second layer. Minimalism is simple but not simple. It is exquisite, and the process of consuming materials and time is concentrated behind its simplicity. Therefore, minimalism is very different from minimalism in the 1980s, and it is not contrary to the pursuit of luxury fashion in the 1990s.
At that time, Americans were the only painters who believed in minimalism. Rauschenberg, Stella and John are their representatives. Simplicity is a tradition of American fashion. Therefore, it is not surprising that minimalism seems to be more handy for American fashion designers. Just look at Chlvinklein and his American counterparts. In the last few years of the 20th century, fashion designers and consumers in China also noticed minimalism. Because minimalist fashion requires extremely high outline, structure, materials and technology, not all designers dare to try their hand here. Coupled with the limited knowledge and lack of self-confidence of many designers, it is difficult to get rid of the complicated and trivial bad habits, and naturally it is impossible to be simple. Such minimalism once became the touchstone to test the maturity of China designers. However, more and more consumers in China metropolis, especially white-collar workers, have accepted minimalism effortlessly. China designers who boast of "guiding consumption" should learn from consumers with an open mind.
