Speaking of 6S, we should start with 5S. 5S originated in Japan and refers to the effective management of production factors such as personnel, machines, materials and methods at the production site. It puts forward requirements for the daily behavior of every employee in the enterprise, advocates starting from small things, and strives to make every employee develop the habit of "paying attention to everything" so as to improve the overall work quality. It is a unique management method of Japanese enterprises. 1955 the slogan of 5S in Japan is "safety begins with rectification and ends with rectification". At that time, only the first 2S was implemented, and its purpose was only to ensure the workspace and safety. Later, due to the need of production control and quality control, the subsequent 3S, namely "cleanliness, cleanliness and literacy", was gradually put forward, thus further expanding its application space and scope. 1986, the first 5S book was published, which had an impact on the whole Japanese field management mode and set off a 5S craze. Japanese enterprises regard 5S activities as the basis of factory management and implement various quality management methods. After World War II, the quality of products improved rapidly, and the status of an economic power was established. Driven by Toyota, the great role of 5S in enhancing corporate image, promoting safe production, standardization and creating a pleasant workplace has been gradually recognized by management circles in various countries. On the basis of 5S site management, China enterprises added safety elements to the original 5S, and combined with the national safety production activities in full swing, formed the "6S".
