CNAPS (China Modern Payment System) mainly includes:
A central bank payment and clearing system: large real-time payment system, small batch payment system, bill clearing system in the same city, local and foreign currency payment system, national check image exchange system, online payment interbank clearing system (super online banking).
B. Payment and clearing system of third-party service organizations: business processing systems of third-party payment organizations such as bank card interbank payment system (China UnionPay bank card interbank transaction system), centralized payment center business processing system, bill business processing system of city commercial banks, and fund settlement center business processing system of rural credit cooperatives.

The main participants in China's modern payment system.
A. direct participants:
The central sub-branches (warehouses) of the People's Bank of China at or above the prefecture level, banks and non-bank financial institutions that have opened clearing accounts in the People's Bank of China are directly connected with the CCPC city processing center.
B. indirect participants:
County (city) sub-branches (warehouses) of the People's Bank of China, banks that have not opened clearing accounts with the People's Bank of China to entrust direct participants to handle fund settlement, and non-bank financial institutions that operate payment and settlement business with the approval of the People's Bank of China.
Not directly connected with the city processing center, its payment business is submitted to the direct participants of its liquidation funds, and the direct participants submit it to the payment system for processing.
A typical example of an indirect participant is a third-party payment company.
C. privileged participants:
An institution approved by the People's Bank of China to handle specific business through the payment system. Open a franchise account in a branch of the local people's bank and connect with the local city processing center. The typical representative of franchise participants is UnionPay.
