Changzhou Municipal Bureau Primary School, formerly known as Longcheng Academy, was founded in the sixth year of Dragon (1572). In 1950s and 1960s, local primary schools took the lead in becoming experimental primary schools in Changzhou. 1982 local primary schools have been identified as provincial and municipal key primary schools. 1996, the school successfully passed the evaluation and acceptance of provincial experimental primary schools; 1997, was named the first batch of provincial model schools.
