I don't quite agree with choosing words in the details of the original work, or paying too much attention to the words used by the original author. You should have your own views on things, grasp the main idea of the book, feel and understand with your own values as the criterion, and get your own answers.
1, in terms of character setting, neither of them will be defeated by others.
The setting of Dugu and Dongfang in the original work is the best in the world, and they are at the peak in their respective martial arts fields, and they are the strongest images. Undefeated or defeated, in short, they will not lose to anyone else. Therefore, the author will not let Dugu and the East play opposite each other, because this will completely subvert their settings.
2. In Wushu, two people have their own strengths, so it is difficult to distinguish them.
First of all, in the realm of martial arts, Dugu is slightly better than the East. In Jin Yong's novels, swordsmanship is divided into five realms, namely, the sword is unintentional, soft sword is impermanent, epee has no front, wood blade has no stagnation, and sword has no form. Dong Fangbubai is in the fourth realm: wood blade has no stagnation, and all plants and trees can be swords, so the rusty needle he casually used has also become a deadly weapon. But he still has a sword in his hand. Moreover, the solitary pursuit of defeated generals has reached the fifth realm: no sword and no style, so I think the martial arts realm of solitary pursuit of defeated generals is better than that of the East, but only better. But in terms of basic attributes, the East is stronger than loneliness. No matter how high the understanding and realm of Wushu is, it needs to be based on certain basic attributes, including strength, speed, reaction and so on. As the saying goes, an old man is not strong, and boxing is afraid of teenagers. An veteran may not be able to beat a fledgling teenager. This is a fact. Of all the basic attributes, speed is the most important. The world's martial arts, only fast but not broken, can make all the attacks of opponents fail and make their own attacks play the greatest role. The strength of the East mainly lies in the extreme speed, and no one can be faster than the East. This is absolute speed. The opponent can't hit him, but he can be tricked and aim at the opponent's key. Only one blow can succeed, and the opponent will lose his fighting ability without much strength. The focus of the nine swords of Dugu is also on a fast word. His quickness is to see through his opponent's moves and react first. To put it bluntly, it is jet lag. So his speed is only relative to the shooting time, and he has to lead the opponent. However, the effect of this ability to predict the enemy plane's first encounter with the absolute speed in the east is hard to say. Even if Dugu can anticipate all the actions of the East and take the lead, the East can make up for the time difference with absolute speed. So in martial arts, I still find it difficult to tell the difference between Dugu and the East.
In the field of life, I am far from the East.
Some people say that the realm of seeking defeat is higher than unbeaten. Dugu spent his whole life looking for an opponent but couldn't get it. He died alone and the East was finally defeated and killed. But can you come to the conclusion that Dugu is better than the East? Man's greatest rival is himself. The so-called transcendence is only a momentary transcendence at some critical moments in life. No one can really overcome himself, or he will cease to be a human being. The East was defeated, but not by the opponent's martial arts, but by inner emptiness and loneliness, and by myself. When some people watch Dong Fangbubai, they tend to pay more attention to his martial arts. His ambition to unify the rivers and lakes stops at "he is a Wulin middleman." But in fact, in addition to martial arts, the East has a strong political attribute. First of all, he is a political figure who has lived in the core of power for a long time, not just a Wulin middleman. The environment in which he lives is far more sinister than that of pure Jianghu people, and the real Jianghu is politics. He needs "royal people" more than "using himself"; He needs "labor" more than "labor". He is really hiding in North Korea. Therefore, people in the eastern world's understanding of the East is far from that of ordinary Jianghu people. He has seen through all the vagaries of people's hearts, is tired of your political game of singing and coming on stage, and has seen through the fame and fortune and human feelings in the world. And he can't get rid of it, even if it is just peace of mind. Life is like an endless test paper. Try to solve a problem, there will be more difficult problems waiting for you, so people should learn to let go. As the strongest, the East can't choose to let go like believers and monks. He is used to advancing and conquering and can't stop. No one knows what kind of problems the East finally encountered along the way, except that he was deeply confused and unable to extricate himself in the face of a proposition that had no solution at all, so empty and lonely that he needed to find an extremely utilitarian and vulgar little person to seek comfort, and finally ruined his life. Dugu, on the other hand, was just a fighter all his life, looking for opponents all his life, but he was always looking for concrete people with flesh and blood, not the vicissitudes of the world that the East had to face. He comforted his equally anxious soul with one victory after another. In the end, he has no opponent. Even if he couldn't let go, he finally chose to retire. Dugu's ending is much better than that of the East, but in the realm of life, the East must go further than him.
