Mencius said that whoever pretends to be benevolent with strength will have the advantage. Dominated, there will be a big country. Taking virtue as benevolence is king. The king will not be big. This soup costs 70 Li. King Wen will be a hundred miles away. If you are convinced by strength, you will not be convinced. Convince people with virtue, then convince people with heart. For example, Confucius, who was convinced by 70 disciples, said in a poem: From west to east, from south to north, you will not be satisfied without thinking.

Mencius said: "It is overbearing to fight violence with violence, no matter how grand the banner is and how beautiful the slogan is;" It must be a big country that is overbearing in international relations.
"Attracting people and attaching importance to people by good governance, all people-oriented is the sidewalk; A pedestrian is not necessarily a big country. Shang Tang's original territory was only 70 square miles, while Zhou Wenwang's was only 100 square mile.
"Fighting violence with violence, people are unconvinced, but they are unable to resist at the moment. Only by convincing others with virtue can we be completely convinced. Confucius' disciples all respect Confucius. The Book of Songs eulogized King Wu's completion of a good scene and his return to the world. It says:
From west to east, from south to north,
People's hearts are here, towards the center.
This is the result of virtue influencing people. "
