From our goal, the characteristics of Shanghai World Expo can be summarized by "eight firsts".
1. The first registered World Expo held in a developing country.
There are two kinds of World Expositions under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of International Exhibitions, one is professional, the other is registered, also called comprehensive. 1999 Kunming World Expo Major, 20 10 Shanghai World Expo Comprehensive. Usually, the professional World Expo is held for a short time, usually 3 months; Small scale, small park; The displayed field is narrow and concentrated in a certain field. For example, Expo Zaragoza, Spain, which opened on June 14, 2008, was held for three months with the theme of "Water and Sustainable Development". The park covers an area of 25 hectares, and 106 countries have confirmed their participation. Generally speaking, the comprehensive Expo is large in scale, long in duration, wide in discussion field and fierce in bidding. The 2000 Hanover World Expo, the 2005 Aichi World Expo and the Shanghai World Expo are all registered world expositions. Since the end of the 20th century, the Bureau of International Exhibitions has stipulated that registered world expositions should be held every five years. Following the Shanghai World Expo, the next registered World Expo will be held in Milan, Italy on 20 15.
This is the first time to be held in the central city of a very big city.
The site of the Shanghai World Expo is located in the nanpu bridge-Lupu Bridge area, across the Huangpu River, which is the first time in the history of the World Expo to be held in the central city of a megacity. In the past, comprehensive world expositions were either held in small and medium-sized cities or in the suburbs of big cities. After hosting the World Expo, the relevant areas can usually develop into new urban areas. In recent decades, it has not been held directly in the central city of megacities.
3. The first World Expo with the theme of "city"
The theme of Shanghai World Expo is "Better City, Better Life". This theme was once controversial, mainly because someone asked, "Isn't life in the countryside wonderful?" In fact, "Better City, Better Life" has several sub-themes, including "Interaction between City and Countryside". I chose this theme mainly because I hope all the exhibitors can discuss the urbanization problems facing the world and various problems in urban development, such as pollution, traffic, employment and so on.
4. The park area is the first.
The park has a planned total area of 5.28 square kilometers and a fenced area of 3.28 square kilometers. Expo Aichi, Japan 1.7 square kilometers.
This also makes the Shanghai World Expo the largest single relocation project since the liberation of Shanghai. There are more than 8400 relocated residents/kloc-0 and more than 270 relocated units in the park, taking the overall situation into consideration. Many citizens gave up their small families for everyone, and many touching stories emerged, which strongly supported the blog work with practical actions.
5. It is estimated that the exhibition scale will be the first.
The initial exhibition target of Shanghai World Expo is 200 countries and international organizations. The largest number of participating countries and international organizations in history was the 2000 Hanover World Expo, with a total of 170 countries and international organizations participating. As of May 30th, 2008, 72 countries and 33 international organizations have confirmed their participation. Among them, including the diplomatic relations of non-seven countries.
6. The number of tourists is expected to be the first.
The estimated number of tourists is 70 million. The largest number of visitors in history was the Osaka World Expo in 1970, with 64 million people.
7. Create the urban best practice area for the first time.
In order to highlight the theme of the city, the Shanghai World Expo has planned a 15 hectare urban best practice area, which focuses on the latest practice of modern urban development. This idea has been highly recognized by the Bureau of International Exhibitions. Urban best practice area provides opportunities for cities to participate in the World Expo independently, and provides a platform for city representatives from all over the world to exchange experiences in urban construction and development. Enriched the participants and forms of the Expo.
(1) exhibitor case selection
In order to select typical advanced cases of urban construction management that can lead the direction of urban development, we set up an international selection committee for urban best practice cases, which is composed of experts from home and abroad such as UN-Habitat, the Bureau of International Exhibitions and the Ministry of Construction, and is responsible for selecting cases of participating cities on a global scale.
There are three main exhibition forms of urban best practice areas: First, the selected urban cases are displayed in the proportion of 1: 1; The second is to show urban cases through the exhibition hall; Third, participating cities display, recommend and communicate through reports and forums.
After public solicitation, 89 cities in 28 countries on 5 continents submitted 106 applications. In March 2008, the International Selection Committee for Urban Best Practice Cases selected 15 entity cases, more than 40 exhibition hall cases and some other cases. Of the 36 application cases submitted by domestic cities, 3 were selected as architectural cases and 7 as exhibition halls.
The three architectural cases are: the historical building "Decheng Publishing House" pawnshop in Macau, the ecological demonstration building "Shanghai Ecologist" in Shanghai and the living water park in Chengdu. The prototype of the case of "Shanghai Eco-Home" is the Shanghai Eco-Building Demonstration Project located at No.568 Shenfu Road, Shanghai, which itself includes a comprehensive office building, multi-storey apartments and independent houses. The cases of the seven pavilions include: Hong Kong 1, Taipei 2, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Suzhou 1.
(2) Planning of urban practice area
The planning of urban practice area is mainly divided into three parts: north, middle and south. Planning and setting up a case of physical buildings in the north, including three groups of ecological buildings, which take residence, office and business as the leading functions respectively, fully embodying the development concept of ecological blocks; The case of the proposed exhibition hall in the central area forms four groups of exhibition halls, and the corresponding exhibition fields include livable homes, sustainable urban development, protection and utilization of historical heritage, and scientific and technological innovation of built environment. Other cases will be set up in the south, which will be displayed in the original heather power plant reconstruction theme pavilion through theaters, forums, multimedia and other forms.
The main workshop of Heather Power Plant has a history of 100 years, covering an area of about 9 150 square meters, with a total building height of about 50 meters. It will be transformed into one of the theme pavilions of the World Expo, namely the Urban Future Exploration Pavilion. The reconstructed main factory building will become a large-scale regional energy center in the park, and adopt new environmental protection technologies such as solar photovoltaic power generation and river water source heat pump 10 to transform sunlight, river water and natural wind into new clean energy, and strive to become the first national three-star green building transformed from an old factory building in China. The chimney of the power plant is now165m high, which will be transformed into a dynamic sightseeing tower with a height of 20 1 m, integrating experience, interaction and interest, and will become the commanding height of the whole Expo site, temporarily named as "Expo Harmony Tower".
8. Opening the online exhibition for the first time.
Some people say that the World Expo is the product and darling of the industrial age, and it is no longer in the information age and the Internet age. Objectively, the Internet has indeed brought great challenges to the Expo. However, the 2000 Hanover World Expo and the 2005 Aichi World Expo show that the World Expo is still a major event. Although the Aichi World Expo is located in the central part of Japan with a relatively low population density, the number of visitors was originally expected to be150,000, but it turned out to be more than 22 million. As Mr. Luo Cetus, Secretary-General of the Bureau of International Exhibitions, said, "The live experience, face-to-face communication, active atmosphere, interaction between people, enjoyment of sight, hearing and taste, and leisure experience of the World Expo are irreplaceable by the Internet." If used well, the Internet can not only replace the live exhibition of the Expo, but also serve the Expo, help the organizers and exhibitors publicize the Expo and enhance its influence. It can help visitors get information more conveniently, make reservations and guide their visits, and also help visitors interact with exhibitors to enhance the interest and experience of the Expo.
The Shanghai World Expo will work together with the exhibitors, make use of the advantages of the Internet, realize the linkage between the physical Expo and the online exhibition, strengthen the interaction with the audience, and let more people around the world have the opportunity to participate in the Shanghai World Expo. On-site experience, on-site communication and on-site atmosphere are irreplaceable by the Internet. On-site and online can achieve complementary linkage through technical means.
Of course, at present, we generally don't emphasize these eight firsts, because in view of the experience and lessons of Beijing Olympic Games propaganda, the main leaders of the city saved time and effort and put forward the guiding spirit of "low-key, pragmatic and correct" for the propaganda work of Shanghai World Expo. But internally, we still need to let everyone know these goals, recognize the situation and tasks of running the Expo, and make full preparations.
Emblem and mascot
This emblem was collected and selected from all over the world in 2004. The designer is Mr Shao Honggeng. The emblem of the Shanghai World Expo is shaped by the Chinese character "stone" in China, which echoes the emblem of the Beijing Olympic Games from north to south. The word "yes" means that three people embrace each other and look like a happy family. It can also be abstracted as "you, me and him" in a broad sense, pursuing a beautiful and harmonious life.
The mascot "Haibao" was grandly unveiled on June 65438+February 65438+February 8, 2007, and was selected from 26655 works collected worldwide. "Haibao" is dominated by blue, symbolizing the regional characteristics of the host city of Shanghai World Expo. "Haibao" means "the treasure of the four seas", not the misinformed meaning of "Shanghai Baby", and its pronunciation is close to "HI, EXPO". At present, products authorized by the Expo emblem and mascot are well received by the market.
Four. Highlights of Shanghai World Expo
Visit exhibition halls, activities, forums, online exhibitions and scientific highlights.
1. Exhibition Hall
According to the participants, there are six kinds of pavilions in the Shanghai World Expo: (1) National Pavilion, (2) International Organization Pavilion, (3) Theme Pavilion, (4) Enterprise Pavilion, (5) Urban Best Practice Zone Case, (6) China Provincial and Municipal Joint Pavilion and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Regional Pavilion. Among them, the first three types of pavilions are usually called official pavilions of the World Expo, and the last three types of pavilions are called unofficial pavilions.
In principle, all foreign pavilions are temporary buildings.
Here we mainly introduce the following types of pavilions:
(1) Foreign National Pavilion
At present, some countries have submitted very good exhibition hall design schemes, such as Britain's Creative Pavilion, Switzerland's Imagine the Future World, Luxembourg's Small Is Beautiful, Spain's Dancing City, Canada's Lively City, France's Emotional City, Holland's Happy Street and Nepal's Searching for the Soul of the City.
(2) China Pavilion
With the strong support of the Ministry of Construction and the China Architecture Society, the architectural design scheme of China Pavilion was collected from Chinese all over the world, which received extensive attention and enthusiastic participation from Chinese at home and abroad. After several rounds of expert review, two schemes tied for the first place were selected. One is the "Oriental Crown" scheme, which is provided by the Architectural Design Institute of South China University of Technology. The upper part is supported by 56 frames, forming the China National Pavilion. Experts from the jury believe that the scheme magnifies and hangs the "Crown of the East", which embodies a strong China element and has a strong visual impact. The other is the "overlapping seal" scheme, which is provided by Tsinghua Andy Architectural Design Company and Shanghai Architectural Design Institute. It adopts the overlapping printing technique that began in Sui Dynasty and was used by later official seals, that is, one-dimensional stroke lines occupy two-dimensional space through multiple folds of strokes. Experts from the jury believe that the scheme uses the China elements of Chinese characters, and its layout is reasonable, which is beneficial to the subsequent use of the Expo. On the basis of these two plans, and according to experts' opinions, the final plan of the national pavilion and the regional pavilion is formed, which is divided into upper and lower districts and coordinated by the master and slave, and was reviewed and approved by the fifth meeting of the organizing Committee. At present, a leading group for the preparation of the China Pavilion, composed of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Shanghai Municipality, has been established, and a working group has been set up, and the conceptual design scheme of the exhibition is being prepared. During the year, the collection of exhibits was started, especially the collection of "Treasure of Town Pavilion" in China Pavilion. China Pavilion has a total construction area of 6.5438+0.5 million square meters (90,000 above ground and 60,000 underground), and construction started in February last year.
China Pavilion has a joint pavilion of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, with an average exhibition area of about 600 square meters in each province, autonomous region and municipality. Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions can build their own pavilions, with an exhibition hall area of 800- 1000 square meters in principle; Taiwan Province's participation can be handled according to the principle of Hong Kong and Macao Pavilion. At present, the exhibition of our Shanghai Pavilion has been initiated by the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee.
(3) Theme Pavilion
* * * There are three places. The two places in Puxi are the "Urban Future Pavilion" and the "Urban Civilization Pavilion" which were rebuilt from the old factory buildings. Pudong 1 is a newly-built permanent building, which will be reserved for use after the meeting, with a total construction area of1.2000 square meters. The design adopts origami, which not only highlights the characteristics of Shanghai's urban texture, the memory space of urban life and the intoxicating image of Shanghai, but also considers various architectural elements such as external wall and roof insulation, roof ventilation and lighting. After the meeting, it will become another major exhibition facility in Shanghai.
(4) Enterprise Pavilion
The Enterprise Pavilion has always been the highlight of the World Expo. Toyota Pavilion, Toshiba Pavilion and Hitachi Pavilion of Aichi World Expo have to queue up for admission every day, and at most, it takes 3-4 hours. The 16 corporate pavilions planned for the Shanghai World Expo have been actively participated by well-known enterprises at home and abroad. At present, the exhibitors of the 12 pavilion have been basically determined, including China Aerospace Museum, China Aviation Museum, China Railway Museum, Jiangnan Shipbuilding Museum, China Mobile and China Telecom Museum, State Power Museum, State Petroleum Energy Museum, China PICC P&C Pavilion, and Vanke, Coca-Cola, SAIC-GM and Shanghai Enterprise Joint Pavilion led by Shanghai Guo Sheng Group. In addition, companies such as Microsoft also expressed their clear intention to participate.
2. Activities
During the World Expo, in addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, National Pavilion Day and other large-scale activities, many literary and art groups of different nationalities, types and styles from all over the world will present tens of thousands of wonderful performances for tourists.
In order to meet the needs of the artistic performances of the World Expo, the Expo Performing Arts Center is being built in the park, with a total construction area of10.4 million square meters (above ground10.4 million square meters and underground 40,000 square meters). It is a detachable and interchangeable multi-functional theater, which can form a super-large theater with10.8 million seats. Usually it can be divided into several medium-sized cinemas.
3. Forum
The Shanghai World Expo will hold three levels of forums: summit forum, theme forum and thematic forum.
(1) It is planned to hold the 1 summit forum in cooperation with relevant international organizations and publish the Shanghai Declaration.
The summit forum is not only the inheritance of past urban history, but also the prospect of future urban life, and will form and publish the Shanghai Declaration. Summit Forum is the climax and highlight of the whole World Expo Forum, and its level and scale will directly determine the historical position of the World Expo.
(2) Organize 5-6 thematic forums in cooperation with international organizations and domestic provincial and municipal governments.
The theme forum will focus on the theme of the Shanghai World Expo, deeply discuss a series of problems related to the current world urban development, provide feasible solutions, and provide meaningful strategic suggestions and reference evaluation system for the urban development of China.
Cooperate with other social forces, especially the media and the Internet, and hold a special forum on 80- 100. The special forum is an important platform to publicize and promote the Shanghai World Expo and the city's participation in hosting the Expo. The theme of the special forum is easy to understand, close to daily life, and in line with the education popularization goal of the World Expo. As an innovative part of the Shanghai World Expo Forum, the mass forum will attract about 654.38+million people to participate, improve the public's awareness of social participation, promote urban development and create social value.
Most forums of the World Expo will be held in the Expo Center. Construction of the Expo Center started in June 2007. It is about 350m long from east to west, about140m wide from north to south, with a total construction area of about140,000 square meters (above ground10000, 40,000 underground). After the World Expo, it will become an important conference facility in Shanghai, which can hold a super-large banquet for 3,000 people.
4. Online display
China 20 10 Shanghai World Expo will be the first Expo event in the history of the Expo to hold both a physical Expo and an online exhibition.
Nowadays, the development of Internet and various new technologies provides more possibilities and means for the promotion of world-class events. In this way, we hope that people all over the world can get the experience of visiting the 20 10 Shanghai World Expo, including on-site and network-based means. 20 10 Shanghai online exhibition will vividly present the information of the exhibition hall and exhibits through the internet platform. Compared with the existing official website of the Shanghai World Expo, the official website mainly publishes official information of the Expo and provides services such as booking tickets. Online exhibitions not only provide promotion and education functions, but also emphasize interactive navigation and display for the audience, giving them a good interactive experience.
5. Science and technology highlights
The World Expo has always been a grand gathering for countries to display the latest inventions and scientific and technological achievements. China's books in the Qing Dynasty called the World Expo a "tournament". The Bureau of International Exhibitions has a famous slogan "Everything starts with the World Expo", because the World Expo is a global event of the achievements of human material and spiritual civilization. Every time it is held, it leads the development of science and technology, culture and art, architecture and lifestyle, leaving a lot of material and spiritual wealth to future generations, and its influence has continued to this day. For example, at the first World Expo in London, England in 185 1, the famous Crystal Palace, steam engine and telegraph were exhibited for the first time. 1873 The Vienna World Expo made Strauss's Blue Danube a household name all over the world. 1876, the telephone invented by Bell was first displayed at the Philadelphia World Expo. 1888 The phonograph invented by Edison was exhibited for the first time at the Melbourne World Expo in Australia; 1889 The Paris World Expo left famous symbols of Paris and even the Eiffel Tower in France, and exhibited four-wheeled vehicles for the first time. 1904 The aircraft invented by the Wright brothers was exhibited at the St. Louis World Expo in the United States; 19 15 World Expo in San Francisco, USA, the film was shown for the first time; 1958 The World Expo in Brussels left a famous building-the Atomic Tower. 1970 Osaka World Expo exhibited the "Moon Stone" collected from the moon for the first time by human beings. The robot band in Toyota Pavilion of Aichi World Expo in 2005 caused a sensation. The latest scientific and technological achievements displayed in the World Expo are too numerous to mention.
We believe that at the Shanghai World Expo, all participating countries will exhibit wonderful latest scientific and technological exhibits. At the same time, China Pavilion, as the national pavilion of the host country, is also trying to find the treasure of the town pavilion. The National Defense Science, Technology and Culture Committee has expressed its support for the exhibition of the China Pavilion.
In addition to displaying the latest scientific and technological exhibits, we also vigorously strengthened the application of new technologies and scientific and technological products during the preparations for the World Expo. For example:
(1) Development and utilization of solar energy
Solar energy will be widely used in the Expo site. Solar energy facilities will be installed in major venues and some facilities, such as theme pavilions, China pavilions and heather power plants. After completion, the solar power generation capacity of the Expo Park is about 4 MW, which is the largest area of concentrated solar energy application in China.
(2) Environmental protection public transportation
We actively carry out the research and development of new environmentally-friendly transportation tools, and the public transportation in the Expo Park will achieve "zero emission", provide environmentally-friendly and clean transportation services for tourists, and display various new scientific and technological transportation tools. At present, two kinds of clean power vehicles have been put into trial operation: one is a super-capacitor vehicle, which will be put into use in the Expo site during the Expo 100 super-capacitor vehicles; The second is a hybrid car with super capacitor and battery. In addition, the research and development of fuel cell vehicles or hydrogen energy vehicles is still in progress.
(3) Promote the application of energy-saving equipment such as LED.
Known as "2 1 century green light source", semiconductor lighting (LED) will be used as the main lighting in urban best practice area, which is the first time that semiconductor lighting has been used intensively on a large scale in urban blocks.
(4) Actively apply the advanced technology of harmless, reducing and recycling solid waste.
All garbage generated in the Expo site will be classified. We plan to build a garbage pipeline pneumatic conveying system in the permanent building area of "one axis and four pavilions" in Pudong. By building a fully enclosed pneumatic conveying pipeline, the classified collection and transportation of garbage are controlled by computer programs, and the garbage is classified and treated to reduce pollution and turn waste into treasure. In addition, all kinds of household appliances and articles used in the Expo Park are made of renewable or degradable materials to reduce environmental pollution.
(5) Developing RFID technology to study tickets.
New technologies such as RFID are being developed to make Expo tickets, which can effectively improve the safety and inspection efficiency of tickets, and provide great convenience for tourists to visit and spend by loading tickets for tour guide, venue reservation, stored value and statistics.
(6) Strengthen meteorological scientific research.
With the support of the National Meteorological Administration, we have established a three-dimensional meteorological detection system and a refined meteorological forecast service system for the World Expo, which have provided advanced meteorological services for the smooth hosting of the World Expo and demonstrated the latest achievements and development level of meteorological services in China.
Verb (abbreviation for verb) the way to visit the Shanghai World Expo
Since there are so many scenic spots in the Shanghai World Expo and the Expo Park is so big that it spans the banks of the Huangpu River, how can tourists "get in, get out, swim comfortably, have fun and keep safe"? Is the arduous task we face. To this end, we are stepping up the construction of venues and infrastructure in the park.
There are many supporting infrastructure projects in the Expo Park, which can be roughly summarized as "12345678":
1."1central axis": The Expo axis is located at the main entrance of Pudong, with a length of about1050m and a width of about 80m. It is an integrated development structure above ground and underground, with a total area of about 250,000 square meters. In the future, visitors standing on the Expo axis can overlook the whole park, which will connect the four permanent buildings of the Expo, namely, China Pavilion, Theme Pavilion, Expo Center and Performing Arts Center.
2. "Two river-crossing tunnels": Tibet South Road Tunnel and Dapu Road Tunnel.
3. "Three gates in the park": two in Pudong and Puxi 1.
4. "Four Gardens": Expo Park, Houtan Wetland Park, Bailianjing Park and Jiangnan Square Park. Four large parks and other greening facilities have been planned and built in the Expo Park, with a total area of over 6,543,800 square meters.
5. "Five rail transit lines": lines 4, 6, 7, 8, 13. Among them, line 13 is the Expo dedicated line.
6. "Six municipal roads in the park"
7. "Seven park ferry lines"
8. "8 entrances and exits of the park": 5 in Pudong and 3 in Puxi. The largest entrance in Pudong is Shangnan Road, and the largest entrance in Puxi is South Tibet Road.
