On the morning of July 20th, 1967, the "Million Heroes" crowd, Hubei provincial organs and PLA cadres flooded into the stations of Wang Li and Xie Fuzhi, demanding that they answer questions, but they were rejected. As a result, someone rushed in to catch Wang Li, stuffed him into a car, dragged him to the compound of Wuhan Military Region, and questioned and criticized Wang Li at a mass rally. The head of the Wuhan Military Region was around to protect Wang Li's safety, and soon Wang Li was transferred to the 29th Division. In view of the situation in Wuhan, Mao Zedong left Wuhan on the same day. At this time, the masses of "million heroes" took to the streets one after another. Thousands of trucks carrying workers, peasants and commanders of the troops stationed in Korea wearing wicker hats and carrying spears lined up in four rows, held demonstrations against the actions of the central delegation Wang Li and others, and shouted the slogan "Down with Wang Li", which shocked the whole country.
1On July 22nd, 967, when Jiang Qing spoke to mass organizations in Henan Province, he first put forward the slogan of "attacking Wuwei with literature". On July 23rd, 1967, Wen Wei Po published the slogan "Wen Wei Bao". Since then, the war in the whole country has escalated sharply, and incidents of attacking troops and robbing weapons and guns have occurred constantly. Lin Biao and Jiang Qing slandered this incident as a "counter-revolutionary event" and a "counter-revolutionary coup", and took this opportunity to attack Chen Zaidao, the head of Wuhan Military Region, and others. The rebels of Wuhan University held a meeting to expose and criticize Chen Zaidao, commander of the Wuhan Military Region, and set up a "Doo Chen Office" to point the finger at the China People's Liberation Army. The war between the two factions in Wuhan has gradually escalated, and the "Serf Gith" fighting group (Dragon Group) and the "Tiger Mountain Tour" fighting group (Tiger Group) of Wuhan University have also attacked each other. It was Japan that triggered a large-scale conflict.
