Mr. Chen was a native of Xinning County in Qing Dynasty. The backwardness of Mount Tai has always been a pain in Chen's heart. Chen intends to go back to Taishan to engage in textile industry when Mr. Chen has money. For more than 400 years since Taishan County was established, traffic congestion has been an important reason for backwardness. Waterway depends on sailboats, and land depends on carts and sedan chairs. Since Guangxu, overseas Chinese have continuously injected funds to improve traffic. Chen decided to build railways instead of textiles in his hometown. Building a railway? The villagers were dumbfounded. Guangzhou has just got the shortest railway. I heard there is one in Chaoshan. Can our county do it? Chen, who has accumulated experience in road construction, seems to be full of words and slowly explains the idea of two tracks to the villagers. In the twilight, everyone seems to have heard the whistle whistling, and the vision is getting closer and clearer. Only four months after returning to his hometown, Chen invited the villagers to set up the Sun Ning Railway Preparatory Office, and drafted a series of documents, stressing that "foreign stocks are not accepted, foreign funds are not borrowed, and the project is run by the people of the county". He made an abacus-to go to the United States, Canada and even Hong Kong for financing, the railway in the county only needs 500,000 to 600,000 yuan. From 1905, the white-haired man Chen stretched his legs to raise money. The slogan is simple: "Use China people's capital to build a railway for China people". Countless overseas Chinese were moved by this and donated hard-earned money accumulated over the years for their distant and beautiful hometown. Finally, the road has been extending forward. 59 km 1908 from Gongyi to Doushan, and 50 km 19 13 from Jiangmen in the second bid section. By March 20 1920, Taicheng to Baisha was completed, 28 km, with a total length of 133 km. Waiting at each station is divided into two rooms for men and women. 1929 The railway was privatized, and the finance once improved. By 1932, the annual profit is 200,000-400,000 yuan. However, due to the recession of the world economy, the reduction of remittances and the recession of the rural economy, the railway will soon lose money again. After 1935, many investors failed to get dividends. After the Japanese invaders entered the Pearl River Delta, the railway was bombed dozens of times by Japanese planes. Every time the whole people mobilize, it takes at most two days to fill the roadbed and lay sleepers, and traffic can be restored. 19381February 12. Xu Jingtang, the head of the Jiangmen Fourth Army Office of the Kuomintang, ordered the destruction of the railway for the first time before the end of the year, so he began to dismantle the Dajiang Bridge and the Chonglan Bridge; Jiangmen 1939 fell, and the local people destroyed the railway for the second time, pulling people to dismantle the tracks along the road and hiding them in various towns and villages, and then transporting 23,782 pieces to the Xiuqian-Guigui Railway in Guangxi to pay for the sleepers. 1940 issued an order to completely destroy the roadbed within five days, resulting in the complete destruction of the railway.
