The Commission for Discipline Inspection is the party's organization, one of the party's "two committees" (namely, the Party Committee and the Commission for Discipline Inspection) and one of the "five teams" (namely, the "five leading bodies"-the Party Committee, the People's Congress, the government, the CPPCC and the Commission for Discipline Inspection). It is the first session of the Party Committee, not a party committee department. Its specifications are higher than those of the party committee departments (namely, the Propaganda Department, the United Front Work Department, the Organization Department, and the Party's Disciplinary Inspection Committees at all levels of the Political and Legal Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Disciplinary Committee), and they perform their duties in accordance with the provisions of party constitution.
Supervision is a government department that specializes in supervision and inspection of government agencies and government officials. Supervisory organs at all levels (Supervision Bureau) perform their duties according to the Administrative Supervision Law.
During the period of 1993, the Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Supervision Bureau worked together, with one team and two brands, performing two functions of discipline inspection and supervision.
