Tibet is called the roof of the world, so Ali is the roof of the world. Ali covers an area of over 300,000 kilometers, but its population is only over 70,000. So there are only about 0.2 people per square kilometer. So it is also one of the places with very low population density in the world. The average altitude here is about 4600-5000 meters, which preserves the geographical unit with the highest altitude and the most complete natural form in Tibet.
The road to the soul
If you want to go to Ali, you must first go to Gangrinboqi. Ren Gang Qi Bo, called "Holy Mountain" by Tibetan pilgrims, looks like an olive and goes straight into the sky. On the way to Ganrinpoche, it can be described in one word-boundless. Wild donkeys, Tibetan antelopes, red-crowned cranes and other national protected animals are the most common. Occasionally you can see local shepherds. When you pass the gas station along the way, be sure to fill it up. The gas station here is far away, so we must make full preparations.
Besides, you can also see Tibetan pilgrims knocking on their long heads and thinking of their ancestors along the way. In Gangrinpoche, in the Tibetan Year of the Horse, the most pilgrims will turn to the mountains. It is said that this is because the Buddha Sakyamuni belongs to a horse, and pilgrims come here to turn mountains, which can wash away the sins of their lives; Ten times around the mountain can save you from hell in 500 cycles; One hundred turns around the mountain in this life can become a Buddha, one turn around the mountain in the Year of the Horse, and Sakyamuni's birth can increase his merits by twelve times, which is equivalent to thirteen turns throughout the year, which is the most effective accumulated merit.
Roval Lake, Manaca
Since ancient times, "green mountains" cannot be separated from "green water", so Mabian Yongcuo, who is backed by Rinpoche, a deep mountain, has to say. Yongcuo in Mabian, Namtso and Yongcuo in Yang Zhuo are called the "three holy lakes" in Tibet. Mabian Yongcuo is located 35km east of Pulan County in Ali area and south of Gangrenbo Qi Feng. Since ancient times, Buddhist believers have regarded Mabian Yongcuo as a "holy lake". It is the second largest natural freshwater lake in China, the most transparent freshwater lake and the birthplace of four major rivers in Asia.
It is said that Yongcuo in Mabian is the most sacred lake. According to legend, it is the nectar given to the world by the great honor of victory, which can wash the evil obstacles in the mortal soul and eliminate the troubles in the soul. It is the holiest and oldest place among all the holy places that gave birth to Buddhism, eternal humanism and Hinduism, and Hinduism is convinced that Shiva lives here. Yongcuo in Mabian is a perfect lake in the hearts of believers. Local Tibetan Buddhists believe that Yongcuo in Mabian is the "Shangri-La" of the gods, a real paradise in the universe and a paradise for all things.
Tolin Temple
Tolin is Tibetan, which means "fly in the air and never fall". Tolin Temple is located on the banks of Xiangquan River in the northwest of Zhada County in Ali region. Founded in the Northern Song Dynasty, it is the first Buddhist temple built by Guge Kingdom in Ali area. 1996 is listed as "national first-class cultural relics protection unit".
The architectural style and layout of Tolin Temple are full of Tibetan flavor. The layout is long, including Buddhist temples, Tallinn and temples. The main buildings are stupa, Dharma Hall, Assembly Hall (Zulakan Hall), Sekang Hall, Gazha Hall, Baitang (buddhist nun), Luohan Hall, Maitreya Buddha Hall, Adixia Jing Hall, Jing Shi and Ranghe Buddhist Temple.
For hundreds of years, although Tolin Temple has been destroyed intentionally or unintentionally, naturally or artificially from all directions, it is still full of temples and towering pagodas. Thanks to the vigorous development of Buddhism during the Guge Dynasty, Tolin Temple became the center of Buddhism at that time.
Ali has sacred mountains, sacred lakes and ancient temples with a long history. In this way, it is understandable to say that there is no Ali and no Tibet. Tibet has always been a place where sacredness and mystery coexist. I believe there are still many beautiful secrets that human beings have not discovered and set foot on, waiting for everyone to explore. But I want to say a few words here. I hope you can truly appreciate the beauty of Tibet, love this gentle plateau more and hurt less. Thank you for reading.
