In the twenty-ninth year of Daoguang, there were lights in the streets and alleys around Yuyuan Garden, and some large families produced as many as 200 to 300 lights. After the Republic of China, the Lantern Festival gradually declined. 1979, the Yuyuan Garden held another lantern festival, and it was held eight times in 1992, among which the larger one was: 1988 set of watching lanterns, enjoying songs and enjoying music.
Held 1989 Lantern Festival jointly with Zhenjiang Folk Art Lighting Company in Jiangsu, and jointly held 1990 Lantern Festival with Shinan District Government, Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism Bureau, Radio and Television Bureau, Jiefang Daily, Wenhui Daily and Xinmin Evening News to welcome the Asian Games and National Day.
1992 Lantern Festival was created and arranged by Suzhou Gusu Lighting Factory to welcome 1992 China-Japan Friendship Tourism Year and Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai Tourism Year.
Yu Garden Flower Show:
Yu Garden Flower Show starts from 1796 and ends at 1820. Chrysanthemum is the main flower, followed by orchids and plum blossoms. All potted flowers are provided by private individuals, and the winners are judged. Plum blossom performances are mostly held on the second day of the first lunar month, but not every year. Orchid exhibition is usually held once a year in Dongyuan, usually in late April of the lunar calendar, lasting for three days.
Chrysanthemum will be held in September of the lunar calendar every year, and the venue is generally located in Cuixiutang area. At that time, indoor corridors and kerbs were chrysanthemums, and the pots used were also very particular. Some are precious porcelain pots, and each chrysanthemum is marked with the artist's name. Ask experts to taste it. Everything that is rated as new, elegant and rare is top grade.
