3 1 The 1st Summer Universiade, also known as 202 1 Chengdu Summer Universiade, is a global multi-sports event organized by the International University Sports Federation.
The competition will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan, China from August/KLOC-0 to August/2002/KLOC-0. It is expected to attract about 1 0,000 college athletes from more than 60 countries and regions.
This competition includes 18 major events and 270 sub-events, including traditional events such as track and field, swimming, basketball and football, as well as emerging events such as rock climbing and judo.
The Chengdu Summer Universiade aims to promote exchanges and friendship among college students around the world, display China's excellent city image and rich cultural heritage, and prepare for the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

2. This Universiade is the fourth Universiade held in China, and it is also the second time that Chengdu has held a large-scale national comprehensive sports meeting after the 6th National Games of 1987 and the 10th National Games of 200/kloc-0.
