Founded in 1949, Adidas is a member company of German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas AG. Named after its founder Adolf Dassler, the company began to produce footwear products in Auracher, Hetsogen, in 1920.

1949 August 18 was registered under the name of Adidas. Adidas was originally founded by two brothers. After parting ways, Adolf's brother Rudolf Dassler opened the sports brand Puma.
