Named after an ancient town with broken pianos in China. Before liberation, the jurisdiction belonged to Hanyang County. In the early days of liberation, Huangjinkou still belonged to Hanyang County, Huangjinkou belonged to Fucheng District of Wuhan City, and Qinkou area belonged to Fucheng District. 1June, 957, Qinduankou Sub-district Office was established. At the same time, the area above Huangjinkou was placed under the jurisdiction of Hanqiao District of Wuhan by Hanyang County, and Qinduankou Sub-district was under the jurisdiction of Hanqiao District. 1958 changed to suburbs,1964 changed to Hanqiao District in August. 1966 was renamed as Huo Xing Street, and 1972 was renamed as Qinduan Street. 1975 changed to Hongshan District. 1980 office moved from Qinduan to Shilipu. 1986 changed to Hanyang District.
