Appear symptoms
Hundreds of bacteria enter our bodies through the mouth every day. Helicobacter pylori is the only microorganism known to survive in human stomach. Infection with this bacterium can cause active gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric mucosa-related tissue lymphoma, gastric cancer and so on. It is also listed as a primary carcinogen of gastric cancer.
When your body appears the following discomfort, it is recommended to improve the examination of Helicobacter pylori:
1. Repeated upper abdominal pain and fullness, confirmed by gastroscopy as gastroduodenal ulcer, erosive active inflammation or atrophic gastritis.
2. Chronic gastritis with severe dyspeptic symptoms is ineffective after ordinary treatment.
3. Review of early gastric tumor after endoscopic resection or subtotal gastrectomy.
4. Family history of gastric cancer.
5. People who plan to take acid inhibitors, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin for a long time.
6. People with unexplained iron deficiency anemia.
7. Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
8. People who live together and have close contact with each other have Helicobacter pylori or immediate family members have gastric cancer.
9. People with intractable bad breath for unknown reasons.
therapeutic method
There are many methods to detect Helicobacter pylori, which can be divided into invasive and non-invasive categories. Invasive examination mainly refers to the relevant examination of gastric mucosa samples obtained through gastroscope, including rapid urease test, pathological Hp examination, tissue bacterial culture and tissue PCR technology. The first two tests are mostly used in clinic, while the last two tests are used in special patients as scientific research. Non-invasive examination refers to the method of obtaining samples without gastroscope, including serum antibody detection, urea breath test of C 13 or C 14, and detection of Helicobacter pylori antigen in feces.
Generally speaking, there are three most commonly used methods: exhalation, gastroscopy and blood drawing. So which is more accurate and convenient?
First of all, for breathing and gastroscopy, if it is positive, this result is more accurate, indicating that you are infected with Helicobacter pylori. For blood drawing, the positive result is not necessarily, because a positive blood drawing can only show that you have been infected with Helicobacter pylori, but there is no doubt now.
Therefore, the positive results of gastroscopy and respiration are more accurate, but gastroscopy is an invasive examination. If it is necessary to further clarify the organic diagnosis of upper digestive tract at the same time, gastroscopy can be selected; If the organic diagnosis of upper digestive tract needs to be further clarified at the same time, gastroscopy can be selected; If the detection of Helicobacter pylori is the most convenient and accurate after treatment, the breath test is the most convenient and accurate.
Matters needing attention
At present, the C 13 urea breath test carried out in outpatient department of our hospital is not radioactive and does no harm to human body and environment. The operation is simple, the result is accurate, the result is given in three minutes, and the examinee only needs to blow two breaths, so the compliance is good.
Precautions are as follows:
1. Before testing, the corresponding drugs should be stopped, such as stopping antibiotics 1 month, stopping proton pump inhibitors at least 1 week, and stopping colloidal bismuth for at least 2 weeks;
2. The test should be conducted on an empty stomach 2 hours before or after the test.
