People's Republic of China (PRC) identity card is a citizen's identity document used to prove that a person lives in People's Republic of China (PRC). 1984 was preceded by "ID card".

Since then, through the implementation of the resident identity card system, China has begun to issue the first generation of resident identity cards.
The registration items of resident identity cards include name, gender, nationality, date of birth, address and validity period. The validity period of the resident ID card can be divided into 10 year, 20 years and long term. The first-generation ID card is sealed with polyester film, single-page card, 15-digit code. It turns out that a large number of ID cards are issued by hand.
