I am honored to have the opportunity to talk about Wanda's internationalization experience in the open class of Oxford University. The topic of my speech is "Wanda Internationalization", and I will make four points:

Reasons for internationalization

The first is to expand the scale of enterprises. Some industries need international investment if they want to scale up, especially entertainment and sports. Foreign markets are more developed than China, which is an important reason for Wanda's internationalization.

The second is to become an international enterprise. In 20 15, there was a most popular resignation letter in China, in which a teacher said, "The world is so big, I want to see it.". I want to borrow this sentence to say Wanda, "The world is so big, I want to break in".

The core of Wanda's corporate culture has always been eight words. 1988 When I founded the company, I put forward that the core of corporate culture is "honesty and intelligence". At that time, China had just reformed and opened up, and there were many swindlers in business. We emphasize honesty and advocate "being honest"; At the same time, we must "do things wisely". It is his fault that someone lied to me once, and it is my fault to lie to me twice. Wanda's overseas investment is mainly based on mergers and acquisitions, supplemented by investment. Why are you doing this? Some people say that China enterprises don't buy the right ones, but only the expensive ones. However, the key point of Wanda's internationalization is to do it right. We have two standards to measure what is right. First, it is related to Wanda's existing industries. Wanda's internationalization has entered the industries that Wanda is already doing, whether it is real estate, culture, sports or tourism that Wanda is now engaged in. The advantage of doing this is that we have a certain amount of knowledge accumulation and talent reserve, and understand what this industry is all about. Second, regardless of cross-border M&A or investment projects, Wanda requires that these businesses can be transplanted to China and get faster development in China. Take the merger of sports companies as an example. On 20 15, Wanda acquired WTC, the world's largest triathlon company. Less than half a year after the merger, we landed triathlon competitions in Xiamen and Hefei, China. This sport was once a blind spot in China. Only after our promotion did the public know what triathlon was. 3. Local talents

Wanda Internationalization emphasizes the use of local talents. 20 12 when Wanda acquired American AMC company, because it was a movie terminal channel, the United States * * * had certain restrictions on the merger and acquisition of such companies. I went to Mr. Locke, the American ambassador to China, and asked him to write us a letter of recommendation and recommend it to the United States. He first asked Wanda if it wanted to sell a large number of China films to the United States when it bought AMC. I said impossible. Even if I want to sell China movies to the United States, it depends on whether there are so many people coming to see them. If the film is not good, the audience will vote with their feet. Then he asked Wanda if it wanted to send China people to the United States for management. I said no. After the merger, all the management of the company left, which actually means that the merger failed. Teacher Luo was very happy and wrote us a letter of recommendation. Coupled with other factors, Wanda's acquisition of AMC was finally approved by the United States.

After Wanda acquired AMC, it only sent a liaison. This brings a problem. The original shareholders of our acquisition targets are all large multinational enterprises. If others fail, why can Wanda do it well when it comes? We found that the best management method for M&A enterprises is to keep the original management and let them work better. Wanda's acquisition of American AMC has been taken as a teaching case by Harvard Business School. The professor who did this case came to our company for investigation and said two words, which are very classic.

First of all, nothing has changed. Or AMC, the company, the name has not changed, the management has not changed, and the business location has not changed; Secondly, everything has changed and the company has undergone profound changes. I said that in the past, the management ideas of China enterprises were basically learned from the West, but we had our own advantages in application. The most basic management is "system design", the core of which is to mobilize people's enthusiasm, rather than designing systems to treat management like thieves. Progress in internationalization

Wanda has become a representative of the internationalization of China enterprises, especially private enterprises. From 20 12 to now, I have invested in more than ten countries around the world, with an investment of more than1500 million US dollars, of which 10 billion US dollars is only in the United States, so I am very popular in the United States. 20 12 when Wanda bought AMC, I promised to invest at least 10 billion dollars in the United States within ten years. Internationalization goal

First, overseas income has increased substantially.
