Calligraphy:

When Chen Duxiu, who was not familiar with Chen and Shen at that time, met him for the first time, he said to his face, "I saw your poem about Liu Sanbi yesterday. This poem is good, but the words are vulgar.

It can be said that poetry is in the sky and words are underground! "Liu Sanze is Jiping Liu, a celebrity in Jiangnan. At that time, Liu San and Su, Chen Duxiu, etc. Is a celebrity who often returns from studying in Japan. Shen doesn't mind Chen's criticism. On the contrary, he went to teach at Peking University, recommended Chen to President Cai Yuanpei, and appointed him as a liberal arts senior, which shows the modesty and broadmindedness of the literati in the old days.

Chen Duxiu criticized Shen's words as "vulgar in bone", which actually revealed his own aesthetic view of calligraphy. Calligraphy, which is generally based on the study of calligraphy, is easy to be "kitsch" if it is not based on the heavy north monument and the pen is monotonous and powerless. This view is also consistent with the ethos of worshipping posts and honoring monuments in the late Qing Dynasty.

However, even though Shen's calligraphy has reached a high level, Chen Duxiu still maintained his original views while affirming it. In his letter 194 1 to Tai Jingnong, he said: "Yin Mo's calligraphy has always been very skillful, which is beyond the reach of friends, but there is no word outside, which is not much different from that of thirty years ago.

There are several words that are close to the truth. Most of Xihe's words come from Nangong, and the charm is still under Ou Chu's Lanting, which is deliberately learned, and the words are finally under Tang Xian. "On the other hand, Chen Duxiu's own calligraphy is a combination of rubbings and Wang Yang, and both styles are available.

Selected works:

Chen Duxiu's major works are Duxiu Wencun and Selected Works of Chen Duxiu. During the period of 1984- 1993, Shanghai People's Publishing House published three volumes of Selected Works of Chen Duxiu.

In the Editor's Note written by 199 1 12, the editor said: "For readers' study and criticism, the full text recorded Chen Duxiu's false remarks about slandering China's * * * production party, slandering the Red Army of workers and peasants, and opposing the revolutionary road of encircling cities from rural areas." Between the lines, the legacy of "criticism" still exists, which is undoubtedly self-defense.

From June 5438 to October 2009 10, Shanghai People's Publishing House published six volumes, 890 articles and 2.72 million words.
