The official Winter Olympics was established in 1924. At that time, the Olympic Games, then known as "Winter Sports Week", was held in Chamonix, France. Two years later, the IOC officially renamed it 1 Winter Olympics. Originally, the Winter Olympic Games was held every four years, and it was held in the same country as the Summer Olympic Games. Since the second Winter Olympics in 1928, the venues of the Winter Olympics and the Summer Olympics have been changed to different countries. Starting from 1994, the Winter Olympics and the Summer Olympics are held alternately, with an interval of two years. In order to stagger the time of the Winter Olympics and the Summer Olympics, only 1992 Winter Olympics and 1994 Winter Olympics are separated by two years.
