Located in Xizhimenwai Street, Beijing Planetarium is a national natural science museum. Mainly through artificial starry sky simulation performance, holding astronomical knowledge exhibition, editing and publishing astronomical popular science books, organizing mass astronomical observation and other ways to publicize and popularize astronomical knowledge to the public. Since 1995, the Beijing Planetarium has become the main position to publicize and educate the public, especially the young people in China. Planetarium has been named as national, municipal and district-level popular science education base, science and peace education base, youth patriotism education base and so on. It has been awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Science Popularization Collective" at the national and municipal levels for many times.

Beijing Planetarium is divided into Hall A and Hall B: Hall A was built in 1955 and opened in1957; Pavilion B was built in 200 1 and opened in 2004. The total construction area is about 7000 square meters.
