1. Click Start → Accessories → Communication → HyperTerminal.
2. As shown in the figure below, click "HyperTerminal" and the location of the named HyperTerminal will be displayed in the red box.
3. In the Connection Description window, just write any name in the Name column, and then click OK.
4. After entering the connection window, there are items such as country (region), area code, telephone number and use when connecting, among which only two items need to be added/selected.
5. Just enter any number in "Phone Number", but you need to select the corresponding COM port in "Use when connecting", and select COM 1 port here.
6. Fill in the Connect to window and try the following, then click OK to go to the next view.
7. After entering the "COM 1 properties" window, as shown in the figure below, the main purpose is to set the port.
8. In the "COM 1 properties" window, we only need to click the "Restore Defaults" button to automatically restore all parameters to values that meet the connection properties, or we can set them manually. The parameters are shown in the red box below.
9. After setting all the parameters in the previous view, click "OK" to enter the command line operation window of this HyperTerminal connection, indicating that the HyperTerminal connection has been established.
10. After entering the command line operation window, click any blank space in the window to ensure that the cursor is in the window, and then click continuously to configure and operate the connected network devices.
