Detailed explanation of DOS startup method of Usboot 1.68 tool+making u disk
Many people have released Usboot 1.68 and LIUBENBOTU-V 1.0 to make USB flash drive startup software many times before. It seems that no one has done the tutorial. Today, I will send a detailed method to make a USB flash drive DOS startup method with Usboot 1.68. Maybe some people just use floppy disks, but this is purely for learning. ...
Download address: Click here to download the new boot USB flash drive making tool.
Download MaxDOS compressed package download address: click here to download.
After the download is completed, unzip the UBSBOOT program, then plug in your USB flash drive, and follow the following steps to make your USB flash drive a DOS boot type (pay attention to backing up useful data in the USB flash drive in advance).
After USBOOT runs (see the figure below):
① Select your USB flash drive;
(2) Click the blue word and select the working mode;
③ It is strongly recommended to choose ZIP mode!
HDD mode and FDD mode suggest to try again when ZIP mode can't work normally;
ZIP mode means that the USB flash drive is simulated as ZIP drive mode, and the drive letter of the USB flash drive after startup is A:
HDD mode means that u disk is simulated into hard disk mode; Special note: If HDD mode is selected, then the drive letter of this startup USB flash drive is C: After startup, many problems are easy to occur when operating the startup partition. For example, when installing the system, the installer will write the startup file to the USB flash drive, not the startup partition of your hard disk! System installation failed. So please try choosing ZIP mode first.
FDD mode means that the U disk is simulated as floppy drive mode, and the drive letter of the U disk is A: after startup. When you start this mode of USB flash drive on some machines that support USB-FDD startup, you will not find it. Please take appropriate measures.
Use.
(4) Click "Start" to start production.
⑤ When the following dialog box appears, make sure that the data in your USB flash drive is useless, and then select Yes.
⑥ The following prompts appear when making the startup disk. Please unplug the USB flash drive according to the normal procedure:
Win9x system: You can directly unplug the USB flash drive.
Win2000, XP and 2003 systems: Please double-click the "Safely Delete Hardware" icon in the red circle on the right side of the taskbar (as shown below) to uninstall the USB flash drive normally.
⑦ Please re-insert the USB flash drive.
The following success prompt will appear later today, indicating that your USB flash drive can start basic DOS at present. Click the x in the upper right corner to close USBOOT.
2. Release all files in the previously downloaded MAXDOS compressed package to the root directory of the U disk. Note that it must be the root directory!
3. At this point, you have a good DOS boot USB flash drive.
4. Start the computer with this USB flash drive: insert the USB flash drive into the USB interface of the motherboard (it is best to unplug other unrelated USB devices temporarily), restart the computer, and press the Del key on the interface of system self-test to enter the BIOS.
Settings (if it is a special BIOS, please refer to the motherboard manual to determine which key to press to enter the BIOS), enter the BIOS function settings, and set the boot order to.
USB-ZIP (or USB-HDD, USB-FDD, please correspond to the working mode of the U disk you made) First, the setting method is to press the PageUP or PageDown key to switch options on this project. After setting.
Press ESC once to return to the BIOS main interface, select Save and Exit (you can press F 10 directly to save and exit BIOS settings, but not all BIOS supports it), and press Enter to confirm to exit BIOS settings.
Settings.
Note: Some motherboards (especially old motherboards) do not support USB flash drive startup in BIOS, so the corresponding options cannot be found.
Precautions:
1. Please back up the useful data on the U disk before making the startup disk, and it is best to format the U disk completely.
2. For systems with NTFS partitions or multiple hard disks, the drive letter arrangement of hard disks in DOS may be different from that in Windows. Please know for yourself to avoid misoperation.
3. If there is a problem when using the startup USB flash drive, please try the following methods:
① Switch to other working modes (ZIP, HDD, FDD);
② Select other options in the DOS startup menu;
③ Replace a USB flash drive with a different brand and make it again;
④ Take the USB flash drive to other brands of computers to see if it can work normally.
4. The main reasons for the problems in the startup disk of 4.USB flash drive are:
① The motherboard does not support USB flash drive startup (or the support is not perfect);
② Some DOS software (especially disk operation) may not support U disk;
(3) U disk is a new hardware after DOS, and its types are complex. At present, most USB devices do not have drivers under DOS, and the drivers currently used are basically compatible, so there is one.
Some problems are inevitable;
④ There is something wrong with the quality of the USB flash drive itself;
⑤ There are often incorrect operations on the USB flash drive, such as plugging and unplugging the USB flash drive directly in 2000, XP and 2003, instead of uninstalling it by "safely deleting hardware".
5. Please refer to the PDF document in the USBOOT compressed package, which has been described in detail.
