There are two main uses: automatically assigning IP addresses to internal networks or network service providers, and giving users or internal network administrators as a means to centrally manage all computers. In RFC,
It is described in detail in 2 13 1. DHCP has three ports, among which UDP67 and UDP68 are normal DHCP service ports, which are used as DHCP server and DHCP respectively.
The service port of the client; Port 546 is used for DHCPv6 clients, not for DHCPv4, but for DHCP failover, which is a service that needs to be specially opened, DHCP.
Failover is used for "hot standby".
Let's start configuring the DHCP server:
Steps and methods:
1. Open the host, click Start on the windows sever 2003 desktop, select Manage Your Server, and then click.
2. Select Add or Remove Roles on the Manage Your Server page.
3. Click Next on the Preliminary Steps page.
On the server role page, select the DHCP server, and then click Next.
5. Select Next on the Select Summary page.
This is to retrieve the installation file and pop up a new scope wizard page, and then click Next.
6. Fill in the domain name you want in the scope page. Here, I name it DHCP, and then click Next.
7. Fill in the starting ip address and ending IP address within the IP address range. The following length and subnet mask system will be automatically filled in. If it is a subnet, you need to modify it yourself. The starting and ending ip addresses refer to the IP address segments to be allocated. Here we give it the range of192.168.2.10-192.168.2.20. Click Next.
8. Fill in the IP address to be excluded on the Add Exclusion page. For example, which IP address do you want to keep, fill it in, and the server will not be assigned to the client host. You can also fill in the excluded ip segment. We keep192.168.2.15 here. Exclude this ip, I want to keep it. Fill in and click Add. Then click Next. (Note here that the excluded IP address must be within the above range. )
9. Fill in the service life of the ip assigned to the client host on the lease term page. Generally speaking, the setting should be shorter. Please refer to other specifications for details. The time limit given to him is 1 day. Then click Next.
10. Select "Yes, configure these options now" in the DHCP options page, and then click Next.
1 1. Fill in the default gateway on the router page. The default gateway in the LAN is192.168.2.1,so fill in192.168.2.1here and click Add to join. Click.
12. You don't need to fill in anything in the domain name and dns server page, and go directly to the next step.
There is nothing in the 13.win server page. Now that DHCP is configured, we don't care. Go straight to the next step.
14. On the Activate Scope page, select Yes, I want to activate this scope now, and then click Next.
On the Completing the New Scope Wizard page, click Finish.
The server now seems to be a DHCP server. Click Finish on the page. At this point, the host is already a DHCP server.
15. The configuration is completed here, but the domain controller needs to authorize the server, so it needs authorization.
16. Open the Manage Your Server page, click the DHCP server and select Manage this server on the right.
17. Click Actions Select Authorization in the dhcp console, and then click here. This server is a real DHCP server.
18. Let's test the working state of DHCP server to see if it can assign dynamic IP addresses to clients normally. Now open another computer on the LAN, click Local Area Connection in the other computer, and then select Properties.
19. Select the internet protocol in the Local Area Connection properties, and then click Properties.
In internet properties, select Get IP address automatically. Click OK. And click OK in the Local Area Connection properties.
20. Click Support in the local connection state, and you can see that the IP address has been assigned to the IP address range just specified, which is 192.168.2.10-192.168.2.20, among which the assigned It shows that DHCP can work normally.
This completes the configuration of DHCP server.
