Directed by Zhang Xiaobo, the play focuses on the key event of the Winter Olympics "Short Track Speed Skating", and tells the inspirational story that short track speed skater Chen Mian (played by Li Gengxi) walked all the way from Qingdao to the national team with his love and will, and finally stood on the Beijing Winter Olympics on behalf of the country, gaining growth through continuous transcendence and burning youth in the speed of ice and snow.
"Transcendence" adopts innovative dual-time narrative techniques, with the new generation of short track speed skaters represented by Chen Mian and the older generation of Chinese athletes and coaches represented by Zheng, Li Guimin and Wu Qinghong as story perspectives, showing the inheritance of the sports competitive spirit of "tenacious struggle and surpassing oneself" of three generations of short track speed skaters. Over four months, more than 800 cast members of the drama went to Qingdao, Yantai, Harbin, Qiqihar and other places to shoot. Taking the sportsmanship of China Olympic athletes as an example, the team overcame all kinds of difficulties, devoted themselves to carrying forward the Olympic spirit and national self-confidence, and truly restored the road of three generations of China short track speed skaters dreaming on the ice.
