Banner making
(1) Set the banner paper size: For banners, you need to set a specific paper size. A4 paper is the default paper size of Word, and ordinary printers can only print A4(2 1×29.7 cm) paper at most. If only one word is printed on an A4 paper, the maximum size of this word can only be17× 26.7cm.. If you want to make a bigger banner, the printer can print A3 paper. I suggest you set the paper size to A3.
(2) Setting margins: The setting of margins is very important for banner making. Click the Page Setup command under the File menu. In the pop-up page setup dialog box, select the margins tab, and you can enter the margins value according to the actual situation. It should be noted that the size of the margins will be affected by the printing ability of the printer. Set the top margin, bottom margin, left margin and right margin to 2 cm here. Through page setting and margin setting, the framework of banner text is initially formed.
(3) Set the page view size: Because only one word is input on the document page during the banner making process, the best view is to be able to accurately see the whole page of the document. The setting method is as follows: after switching the view mode to page view, click the drop-down button of display scale on the standard toolbar, and select the "Full Page" command option from the drop-down options to complete the setting.
(4) Insert WordArt WordArt: There are many ways to deal with oversized characters like banners in Word. Here, you can use Word's own WordArt program to make banners with special effects. Click WordArt on the Picture submenu under the Insert menu, and select a WordArt style in the WordArt Font dialog box. Here we choose the first style as an example, and then click OK to open the Edit WordArt Text dialog box. Enter the first word "New" of the banner in the Edit WordArt Text dialog box, and then click the Font drop-down bar in the Edit WordArt Text dialog box to select a bold font (such as "bold") as the banner font. You can set the size of the text in the font size drop-down bar, and the default value is 36. Since the size of WordArt will be changed below, the font size here can be chosen at will. For editing convenience, you can set the font size to the maximum. There are two tool buttons "Bold" and "Oblique" on the right side of the font size drop-down bar. You can choose to use these two buttons according to your needs. Click OK to finish inserting the WordArt.
(5) Set the size and position of WordArt: Click the "Format WordArt" button on the WordArt toolbar, select the size drop-down bar in the "Format WordArt" dialog box that appears, clear the "Lock Aspect Ratio" check box (the default value has been cleared), and then enter 26.7 cm and 17 cm in the height and width numeric fields respectively. Then click the Layout tab in the WordArt Format dialog box, select Embedding in the Wrap Mode column, and click OK to finish the setting. By adjusting the settings, you can change the size of the WordArt so that it can extend to the whole paper.
(6) Set the fill color and line color of WordArt: The first WordArt style was selected earlier, and the default fill color of this style is white and the default line color is black. Because we only want to print the border of the text when printing the banner text, this setting is just right for us to print the banner and does not need to be modified. If it is not the default setting, you can also set it manually by clicking the Format WordArt button on the WordArt toolbar, selecting the Colors and Lines tab in the Format WordArt dialog box, and then clicking the Color drop-down column in the Fill Options column to select White or Colorless. Click the color drop-down bar in the line options bar and select black. Click the virtual and real drop-down bar in the line options bar and select a solid line. In the Thickness Number column of the Line Options Bar, you can set the thickness of the outline line (the default value is 0.75 points). Click OK to complete the setup.
(7) Print banner words: Banner words can be printed here. If you can't print the full text when printing, you can reduce the wordart appropriately. After the first banner word is printed, it is much more convenient to make the rest of the banner words. Since the line format and character size of the remaining banner characters must be the same as the first character, we can print the other characters in the banner by the following methods (in fact, this method is the simplest and not easy to make mistakes): click the Edit Text Tool button on the WordArt toolbar, enter the second banner word "Year" in the WordArt text editing dialog box (delete the word "New" when entering), and click OK. Repeat the above operation, and then enter and print the rest of the text in the banner.
(8) Draw and cut banner paper: After all the words are printed, you can put the calligraphy and painting on special banner paper and then cut it. If the printer can print directly on banner paper, it can be cut directly without drawing. The cut banner paper can be used, and we have finished making the banner.
(9) Making a banner text template: In order to make the banner more convenient in the future, you can save the banner text document made for the first time as a template. In this way, when making banners in the future, just bring up the template. How to create a banner template: After all the formatting of the wordart in the banner text document is completed, click Save As on the File menu, click the Save As drop-down bar in the Save As dialog box, and select the "Document Template *" option. Point ",the file storage location will automatically switch to the Templates directory. Enter Banner as the file name in the file name field, and then click OK to save the template. In this default storage location, the "Banner" template will be put together with the common template (normal.dot), and you can call this banner template directly the next time you make a banner without starting from scratch.
(10) Making banners with templates for the second time: Open Word2003 word processing software, click New under the File menu, and select common options in the new dialog box that appears. Select the Banner option in the options bar under this option bar, and then click OK. Word will create a new document from the Banner template, which will retain the banner text you saved in the template. Replace and print the banner text in the document one by one with the text of the new banner you want to make. Close the newly created document (without saving) to complete the operation.
