Hell's Gate
The Gate of Hell is located in the Darvaz Desert of Uzbekistan, and it is a crater containing a lot of methane gas. A natural gas drilling mission is under way in this area. During the drilling process, the drillers accidentally drilled into the trapped natural gas cave. In order to prevent natural gas from leaking into the surrounding environment, they decided to burn it.
However, what they didn't expect was that this natural gas cave turned out to be a spontaneous combustion natural gas cave. Since then, the gate of hell has been spewing high flames, which looks like the gate of hell from a distance. Hell's Gate is a 70-meter-high natural gas burning crater, and the dark red soil and gray plants around it are burned by high temperature radiation and flame.
Now, the whole area is illuminated by a large number of flames, forming a gray cloud. Near the mouth of the cave, natural gas keeps pouring out, flows to the ground like milk, and then quickly ignites. This has been going on for decades, and the flames here have formed a wonder on the earth, known as the "Gate of Hell" and one of the more famous natural landscapes in the world. ?
The gate of hell is quite spectacular, with high-temperature flame as high as 70 meters and natural gas as high as 65.438+0 billion cubic meters. The jet speed is almost the same as that of a jet airliner.
The internal temperature of this natural gas cave is very high, reaching above 1000℃. The formation of Hellgate is the result of the interaction between geological structure and chemical principle. After the decomposition products of biomass such as natural gas come out of the ground, they will react with oxygen and other gases to form a large number of dry ice deposits. When the oxygen supply is insufficient, the chemical reaction will form organic compounds such as methane. With the accumulation of natural gas and the passage of time, the temperature and pressure are rising, which is the reason for the formation of "Hell Gate". Although the death gate of the former Soviet Union is spectacular, it has brought terrible harm to the environment and human beings, because long-term burning of natural gas will not only have a serious impact on the environment, but also weaken the regional ecosystem.
Long-term combustion will also cause the gas in the air to become irritating. In addition, in order to better observe this scenic spot, tourists often get too close and even light natural gas with matches. These improper behaviors may cause harm to yourself and the people around you. In order to protect this miracle on earth, the local government and environmental protection organizations have taken various measures and undertaken a series of research projects. In addition, they have taken many measures to manage this scenic spot, including limiting the use of fire, strengthening the management of tourists and conducting on-site safety operations.
According to local experts, this natural gas cave has been burning for more than 50 years. According to the description of scientists who have studied the gate of hell, the burning temperature of the hole is very high, and the burning channel is also its almost infinite energy supply. The air content in this area has reached a very dangerous concentration.
