Xian Dongmei, a native of Sihui City, Guangdong Province, was born in1September 1975. At the Athens Olympic Games, Xian Dongmei won the women's judo 52kg champion. After retiring, she had her own family and children. At the beginning of 2007, 32-year-old Xian Dongmei made a comeback decision to defend the women's judo 52kg champion at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In 2009, she won 1 1 the women's 52kg gold medal in the National Games.
