Jingyu Street Revolutionary Historical Relics
Now, when you walk in Jingyu Street, you will see many shops, schools, street offices, police stations and so on named after Jingyu martyrs. Naturally, you will think that the heroic name of Yang Jingyu martyr will go down in history forever. At the same time, you can also find many footprints of the older generation producers participating in revolutionary activities here. For example, on June 9th, 1928, 165438, students from various schools in Harbin held a demonstration against Japan's construction of Manchu-Mongolian Fifth Road at the junction of Zhengyang Street and Jingyang Street in Daowai District, where the 1 1.9 tragedy happened. When patriotic students rushed into Zhengyang Street, they were warmly welcomed by citizens along the way and shouted slogans with patriotic students. Many businesses set off firecrackers to show their support wherever the parade went. No.23 Jingyu Street (now Chongjian Police Station outside Daodao) is the place where Zhou Enlai lived in Kazakhstan in his early days. The former site of Donghua School, located in the south of Binjiang Park (now Jingyu Park), was once a new school founded by Zhou Enlai alumnus Deng Jiemin, a famous educator and social activist, and was one of the important bases for the spread of Marxism-Leninism in Harbin. A Chinese-style two-story building on the east side of North 14th Street was once the former site of Harbin Morning Post, a progressive newspaper founded by 1923. No.62 Nansidao Street is the former site of Harbin YMCA, an underground party organization. In the east building of 16th Street, there is the former site of Harbin New Newspaper, the underground party magazine of Manchuria Provincial Committee. The former site of Dongxing Shun Hotel where left-wing writer Xiao Hong lived; South 14 Street has a Daowai prison, where revolutionary Chen Tanqiu, Wang Heshou, Meng Jian and other political prisoners were held. This is the former site of Harbin Daily founded by the underground party in the 1920s. There are also Zhong Ziyun, Li and others who have worked in the Central Riverside Working Committee. Visiting these revolutionary relics, people can receive revolutionary traditional education again and again.
