Weixin County belongs to Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, located in the northernmost part of Yunnan Province, northeast of Zhaotong City, bordering several counties in Sichuan Province and Guizhou Province, commonly known as the land of Ji Ming Province. Weixin county government is located in Tashi town, with a total area of about 1397.64 square kilometers.

The geographical location of Weixin County makes it an important area at the junction of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, so it has certain historical and cultural characteristics. Climatic conditions belong to subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons, which is suitable for the growth of various crops.
