1. Too many roles.

As the opponent of the leading role group, everyone must portray it, but the chapter length is not allowed to depict it in detail. So wt will give these villains an easy-to-identify label. For example, drunken octopus swordsman, sledgehammer fisherman with different slogans in different States. But this is far from depicting an impressive character. Then came a group of battles that we were not interested in but had to watch.
2. The difference between plot killing and plot not killing.
One thing wt likes to do is to create a sense of tension as the deadline of a crisis approaches, and at the same time increase the hatred for boss through the villains' evil deeds, thus generating the excitement and comfort of defeating boss at the last minute.
Throughout all the previous chapters, the strength of boss is basically above the leading group, so there are often plot killings, and Fisherman's Island is used as a transit station. Two years later, it is impossible to have a boss superior to the leading group, which leads to the phenomenon that Luffy group is superior to the villain, but due to routine and plot reasons, the villain can't be defeated. This makes the oppression brought by the villains far less than the previous chapter, and can only rely on some other means to slow down the battle plot again and again.
3. Some slightly embarrassing plots and characters.
This may be the reason for my personal perception. Part of the plot of Mermaid Island is not satisfactory, and the supporting role is not as pleasing as the previous chapter. For example, the old man digging sand on the sand island, the god of empty island, the iceberg of water and so on. , are particularly brilliant characters. However, the supporting roles of Fisherman's Island, such as the Three Princes, are a little faceless and feel that wt has no intention in shaping some roles of Fisherman's Island.
There are also some embarrassing plots, such as Hodge shouting that I want to be one piece, which intensifies the contradiction between Lu and Huo, deliberately telling Hodge's "true face" and so on, which is somewhat blunt.
In a word, Mermaid Island has a long chapter, but it has not successfully created a character who can bear this length. The plot did not reach the complexity and excitement of the big chapter. Coupled with a lot of boring villains and poor supporting roles, this chapter of Mermaid Island is not wonderful enough.
