The Origin of "Diligent Learning, Good Thinking and Action"
From The Doctrine of the Mean, "erudition, doubt, thinking, understanding and faith". It is several levels of learning, or several gradual stages.
"Diligence": Learning should be practical and diligent, with clear purpose, correct attitude and cherish time, so as to have a broad knowledge base. This is the first stage of learning.
"Good thinking": Dare to question, be good at thinking, dare to ask questions, and actively explore and solve problems. "Learning without thinking is useless, thinking without learning is dangerous". When studying, you should have doubts about what you have learned, be good at independent thinking, and conduct in-depth and detailed investigation and analysis. This is the second stage of learning.
"Distinguish clearly": We should distinguish right from wrong, know things, grasp the laws and mysteries of things, and distinguish truth, goodness, beauty from falsehood, evil and ugliness. The more differentiated learning is, the more obvious it is. If you don't distinguish, "eager to learn" will be mixed, and it is difficult to distinguish between authenticity and quality. "Discrimination" is the third stage of learning.
"Du Xing": Just practice hard. There are two meanings. First, in terms of conduct, we should be consistent in words and deeds, be consistent in appearance and be pragmatic and exemplary. Secondly, we should apply what we have learned in doing things, enhance the cultivation of practical ability, and focus on application; Pay attention to practice, not empty talk. "Pursuit" is the last stage of learning, that is, since you have learned something, you should try your best to practice what you have learned and achieve "unity of knowledge and action".
