What is the symbol of Anhui tourism?
Huangshan Mountain, located at the southernmost tip of Anhui Province, is a famous international tourist city. The ancient Huizhou region created Huizhou culture, one of the three major regional cultures in China, and gave birth to Huizhou merchants who were famous in the Ming and Qing Dynasties for more than 500 years. The main scenic spots in the city are Huangshan, Hongcun, Xidi Village, Tunxi Old Street, Taiping Lake Scenic Area, Ancient Huizhou Cultural Tourism Area and Kengkou Scenic Area.

Huangshan Mountain, a national 5A-level scenic spot, is a world double heritage, one of the top ten most beautiful and shocking mountains in China, and a symbol of Anhui tourism, as shown in Figure 6- 15.

According to legend, the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan was an alchemist here, so it was renamed "Huangshan". When Xu Xiake, a traveler, climbed Huangshan Mountain, he once praised the beauty of Huangshan Mountain: "When the Five Mountains return, they don't look at the mountains."

Ancient Huizhou Cultural Tourism Zone: It consists of five boutique scenic spots: Huizhou Ancient City, Tang Yue Paifang Group, Tangmo, Chengkan and Qiankou. Huizhou ancient city is the seat of Huizhou government and one of the best preserved ancient cities. Tang Yue Paifang Group is the largest archway community in China, which is composed of seven closely connected stone squares in Ming and Qing Dynasties. At the end of Tang Dynasty, it was known as the first village of Shuikou Garden in China. Chengkan, known as the first geomantic village in China, is located and laid out according to the geomantic theory of the Eight Diagrams in the Book of Changes. Thousands of folk houses brought together the most classic and representative Huizhou folk houses in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The ancient Huizhou cultural tourist area presents "Huizhou culture" perfectly and vividly to the world through the gathering of ancient city life, ancestral temple culture, memorial archway culture, Huizhou merchant culture, village culture and folk house culture.

Xidi-Hongcun: Xidi and Hongcun ancient dwellings are located in Huangshan Scenic Area, yi county, Anhui Province, east of China, and are listed as world cultural heritage because of their well-preserved traditional features. Xidi and Hongcun are the two most representative ancient villages in southern Anhui. They are famous for their rural scenery, well-preserved village forms, exquisite craftsmanship and rich historical and cultural connotations, as shown in Figure 6- 16.
