Keywords: Bing Xin's philosophy of love, natural love and harmony
In a manuscript written to Ge [1], Bing Xin once said: "Love is on the left, sympathy is on the right, walking on both sides of the road of life, sowing seeds at any time, flowering at any time, making this road long and dotted with fragrant flowers, so that pedestrians who wear branches and brush leaves can walk on thorns without feeling pain, tears and sadness!" [2] In the autumn of1998, when she talked about the Bing Xin Award, she said, "Give love and beauty to the world. With love, you have everything!" Then the love that Bing Xin has been talking about back and forth is her original "philosophy of love".
Bing Xin's May 4th period was a stormy time, and the society was in the transition period of historical development. The tender nature of love in this period was not a harmonious tone in the May 4th Movement. This period is a "transitional era" in which awakening and depression, pursuit and confusion, excitement and sadness, struggle and depression are intertwined. It was once called "the age when green clothes are not connected" by the May 4th female writer. [4], in the "lush age" of young people, their own ways to seek liberation are: some games in the world, depravity; Some decadent, see through the world of mortals; Some study Buddhist scriptures and return to their hometown; Some envelope gods, converted to God; Some people give up on themselves and commit suicide ... in short, they can't find a correct outlook on life and often feel that life is meaningless and worthless. Bing Xin's Philosophy of Love came into being. It was Bing Xin who awakened these young people with her unique works. In her works, she deeply cries that people can't live without love, telling people to love others as mothers love their children, and that human beings should love each other in order to make the world full of love!
The philosophy of love is based on praising maternal love, innocence and nature. In her works, motherly love and innocence are taken as weft and natural love as warp, weaving into a set of optical networks, which is undistorted, beautiful and has social value. As Mr. Shen Congwen said, "The love written by Ms. Bing Xin is a kind of morality that leaves the lust, the pity of motherhood and the pure love of children ..." [5]
First, the true meaning of natural love
In Bing Xin's psychological world and literary world, "nature" is the embodiment of mother, and love for nature is the derivative and another embodiment of maternal love. Nature is beautiful and harmonious and the source of life. However, Bing Xin's description of nature is not a general return to nature, but a link between returning to nature and praising his mother, thus sublimating his love for nature into a metaphysical understanding of life and becoming the ultimate meaning of human life as he sees it. Therefore, "natural love" is an important organic part of "philosophy of love".
In Bing Xin's whole "philosophy of love", praising the beauty of nature is the main theme throughout. The so-called nature should include two parts: one is human nature, and the other is natural things. Bing Xin's true pursuit of human nature and description of all things in nature are undoubtedly fully displayed in her works.
Bing Xin regards nature as the second life, and her praise and worship of nature is based on her love for nature itself and the truth in her heart. Therefore, Bing Xin's description of nature, with its truth, profound understanding and wisdom, makes people sigh. The fascination with nature is the theme of Bing Xin's repeated praise. In her mind, "the most unforgettable thing is the beauty of nature" [6]. The formation of the concept of Bing Xin is attributed to her childhood closeness to the sea, the influence of Tagore's works created in the background of being close to nature, and the baptism of Tagore's thought of harmony between the universe and individual mind. Bing Xin's nature is simple, clear and fresh, and at the same time it contains a childlike innocence: "Did you speak in spring?" ? But her great hidden power is so gentle to the world! "[7]," Little pine tree, I'll accompany you, the white clouds are deep on the mountain! " [8] This poem expresses people's simplicity and closeness to nature. The author asked nature to give. The author has no stronger sense of superiority than "Little Pine Tree". On the contrary, the poet feels that he is also a weak person, and wants to gain a sense of security while giving it. In fact, he wants to gain love by giving to nature. Bing Xin likes to express his love for nature in the form of philosophical poems, such as "Poet, don't wronged nature, and' beautiful picture' should be understated!" [9] Bing Xin showed the true beauty of nature with a light pen and ink, instead of boasting and rendering. And "We are all born babies, and I am in the cradle of the universe. "[10] Man is a product of nature. Human beings can't live without nature, and nature becomes complete and beautiful because of talents. Nature and human mind can blend with each other, and the relationship between man and nature is like the relationship between a baby and a mother. This expresses Bing Xin's strong desire for harmony between man and nature. In this short line of poetry, Bing Xin's aesthetic view of advocating nature and her quiet and gentle feelings are vividly displayed.
Bing Xin's concrete love for nature is often manifested in her love for the sea, which often appears in her works, but she has never described the rough and violent face of the sea in detail. In "To a Little Reader, Communication 7", she mentioned that "the waves are roaring", but she did not further describe the spectacular sight of the sea. Bing Xin's positive description of the sea is always harmonious, calm, gorgeous and broad. The sea is the mother, and Bing Xin is the most beautiful daughter of the sea! She is often immersed in nostalgia for the sea. Her description of the sea is really amazing: "I have lived by the sea since I was a child, but I have never seen the sea as flat as a mirror." This time out of Wusongkou, the one-day voyage is endless, just the sparkling microwave and the cool breeze, and the ship is like sailing on the ice. After crossing the Koryo border, it looks like a lake, blue-green, condensed into a piece, and the golden light of the sunset, like a long snake, goes straight from the horizon to the place where Lan Fang stands, from the sky to the water in front of the ship, from light red to dark green, turning into dozens of colors, one after another ... "[1 1]" The emotion and surging inspiration in Bing Xin's poems and poems are all given by the sea. Life is interesting because there are beautiful things in the world. It can be seen that Bing Xin has deep feelings for nature. From her poems, people can often get fresh feelings, which are naturally implicit and full of philosophy, giving people endless aftertaste and baptism and enlightenment of thoughts.
Bing Xin's description of the beauty of nature and her unique significance are contained in it. Bing Xin said: "Everything in the world has its advantages, and a person has a person's value. I can't be biased, and I won't be biased. Realize that everything is against each other. Only wish quiet inside, all things are equal. I hope the chrysanthemum will disappear in my eyes, and dandelion can also hold up her shy and lovely child. Who knows? " [12] She turned natural beauty into a carrier for her communication with her children and a bridge for giving love. Bing Xin harmonizes the strings of society with his love for nature. She hopes that young people suffering from the disease of the times will not use "hate" to push all world disputes far away, so as to drag out an ignoble existence; Instead, they should revive them with "love" and make them live in harmony with hope. They are eager for people to beautify their hearts with love and sympathy, which will lead to people's innate "natural love" and thus realize a universal love with mankind.
Yes, Bing Xin appreciates and loves nature at any time and place. In her view, the beauty and love of nature can not only cultivate temperament and personality, but also heal and soothe the hearts of people with social diseases. Bing Xin awakens the most authentic and kind part of people's hearts with her description of nature. Yes, mankind will eventually return to nature, just as Rousseau called for returning to nature because he hated modern culture. This slogan has the significance of returning to the original state of human beings, as well as the simplicity, truth, goodness and beauty of natural persons. Bing Xin said, "If life is tasteless, I don't want an afterlife. If life is interesting, this life has been satisfied. " [13] Life becomes tasteless, because there is no sea, no trees in the moonlight, no Pingshan ... everything in nature. Thinking about life, Bing Xin always resists terrible and dirty hatred and evil with "all-round love". In the face of secular life, it saved life from the harsh environment of "blowing sand", made it cheer up from the decadent Tang Dynasty, warmed life and guided human nature.
However, due to the progress and development of industrial civilization, the invasion and destruction of primitive nature also followed. In the process of mechanical materialization, human civilization has entered a narrow track, which proves that there is an inseparable historical logic between material process and human nature. The transition and strengthening of material civilization has made modern people lose their conscience and delicacy under the siege of material. They are not in the category of love life, love and hate. People's spirit becomes disordered, people's emotions become helpless, and people's desires become terrible. People are gradually developing towards artificial socialization, and the space for retaining the true characteristics of human nature is gradually shrinking. Civilization has brought humanity, but it has also killed humanity. In this way, people's living conditions are threatening mankind, our home and the environment where we live together. Therefore, we need to re-establish the meaning of human beings, that is, the call of human mind and reason. So what is enough to make people stand up? It is Bing Xin's "natural love"! Bing Xin's ode of "loving nature" is like a bright lamp, which warms the hearts of readers from generation to generation. This ode to love nourishes the good and firm character of human nature and subtly guides human health to goodness.
Second, love nature and the construction of a harmonious society
The love for nature in Bing Xin's works is often related to the shaping of modern personality spirit. She not only praised Bai Lianhua's "graceful and restrained pride" [14], but also praised "plum blossom in the snow" [15] to publicize the independent personality of modern people. With her love for nature, she is engaged in the great project of cultivating bodybuilding humanity and shaping noble soul!
However, when Bing Xin's "philosophy of love" was put before people, many people were puzzled: "philosophy of love" has always been a means for Bing Xin to spread fraternity. Is it good for modern society? Can it be realized in today's social environment? Could it be out of date? Indeed, for such a question, Bing Xin once doubted and contradicted it, which was clearly expressed in her essay Question and Answer. But in his later years, Bing Xin still insisted that "with love, there is everything". This is what I want to discuss and answer: Bing Xin's "love for nature" is of indispensable significance to building a harmonious society.
Bing Xin's natural love is the embodiment of truth, goodness and beauty. It is a perfect personality spirit and an important part of building a harmonious society. When false ugliness such as hatred, hostility, suspicion, indifference, jealousy, hypocrisy, and desire expansion still haunt people's souls like ghosts, we especially need "natural love" as a cleanser and tonic for the soul. People in modern society pay more attention to material, knowledge, ability and technology, which often leads to lack of faith, mental breakdown, excessive expansion of desire, and serious imbalance between material pursuit and spiritual pursuit. So when the existing materials can't satisfy people's desires, they extend their ugly hearts and evil palms to nature. In the end, everything in nature, such as blue sky, clear streams and green grasslands, has become their bag. When there is not much left in nature, wars begin between people, and finally the country breaks down and people die. In short, because they have lost their human nature. It is true that Bing Xin's "philosophy of love" has become an extremely valuable spiritual wealth.
The human mind is the clearest, cleanest and least chaotic in the natural state. Will become chaotic and turbid because of evil things. It is produced in a dirty and chaotic environment. Therefore, it is urgent to protect the nature on which we live! A scientist once did an experiment about water. Scientists took pictures of all the observed water, and a very surprising result appeared in front of people: the water molecules on the words "love and gratitude" written in English, German or Japanese condensed into a beautiful crystal painting. This shows that love and virtue are what we always need. Isn't this Bing Xin's "philosophy of love"? ! When the world is in turmoil, people's worries and troubles are increasing day by day, when diseases, plagues, wars, natural and man-made disasters are becoming more and more frequent, and people, even animals and plants, feel uneasy, we need the "philosophy of love" to teach us the ability to love. Because the world needs love more and more, care and love are needed between people, between people and society, and between people and nature. Instead of just advocating self and competition, fighting with others and nature for a little self-interest, the result is bad news So what kind of lifestyle should we choose? That is, there is love in the heart, because with love, people will know how to be grateful, tolerant, humble and help each other, so everyone will live in harmony and the world will become beautiful. Why not do this? !
Many of Bing Xin's works, such as Stars, Springs and For a Young Reader, are exquisite descriptions of natural beauty. In her works, whether it is the starry sky, the gentle and gorgeous sea, the ice lake with myriad manners, or the bright moon at sea. The lotus in the water and the orchid in the deep valley are the products of her connection with her heart. The beauty of all natural things is revealed only when Bing Xin and the soul intersect and live in harmony, as Hegel said: "Natural beauty only belongs to the reflection of the beauty of the soul." This expresses Bing Xin's thinking about the relationship between man and nature, and also shows her pursuit of an ideal society and her conception of building a harmonious society.
Third, the conclusion
"Love" is human nature, all human nature comes from emotion, and emotion takes "love" as its source. Bing Xin's Philosophy of Love clearly tells us that only in the most primitive place can we get the most authentic human nature, which needs to be inspired by love.
Despite all kinds of criticisms, the "philosophy of love" remains as charming as ever after decades of circulation. After the transformation of spirit, the impact of goods and the sewage of lust worship, the plum blossom has not disappeared, and it has blossomed again. This shows the value and vitality of "philosophy of love" in the real society. It is a wonderful work of social soil cultivation. Its influence on literature and its unusual social significance to human beings and humanity make it exist reasonably. As Hegel said, "Being is rationality"! [ 17]
In Bing Xin's mind, love is a person and everything, and it is a person's life, which can make all sentient beings get a quiet, a kind of love, a little comfort and a little warmth. Bing Xin's Philosophy of Love is her most sincere dedication to mankind, and it is an indispensable landscape and supplement for China's literary world in the 20th century. In short, if literature has the purpose of "educating" and "saving" people, then Bing Xin's "philosophy of love" is the "good prescription" for saving; If literature has the function of "beautifying" and "guiding" society, then Bing Xin's "philosophy of love" is the spiritual home of building a harmonious society! Although it is too idealistic, we should cherish its health and clarity; Cherish its warm character more. It has an important influence on the construction of modern human nature. In order to realize the complete reunification of the motherland and build a civilized, prosperous and harmonious society, we need a "philosophy of love" more. As Mr. Ba Jin said, "Young people from generation to generation read Bing Xin's books and learned about love: love the stars, love the sea, love the motherland and love all beautiful things." [18] Therefore, as one of the first glimmers of the new century, the "philosophy of love" did not die out in 2 1 century, nor did it go out of date!
