Zhang Jian. Zhang Jian was a famous industrialist and educator in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. He founded the first normal school in China and put forward the slogan of "saving the country through industry". He promoted the modernization of China by establishing a series of enterprises such as Sheng Da Cotton Mill, so the founder of normal education was Zhang Jian.
