Development plans and projects
1In July 1996, Indonesia spent 200 million US dollars to buy nine American F- 16 fighter planes. These nine fighters are equipped with Litton LN-93 ring laser inertial navigation system, liquid-driven parachute, Rockwell Collins VHF universal landing system and improved avionics. The aircraft can carry Penguin MK2 anti-ship missile, AGM-65 calf air-to-surface missile and AIM-9 rattlesnake air-to-air missile. 1995, Indonesia purchased an unknown number of Mavericks air-to-surface missiles at a price of150,000 USD.
1In August, 1997, Indonesian officials officially announced the purchase of 12 Su -30K bombers and 8 Mi-17IV helicopters from Russia. The first delivery started at 1998. Due to the financial crisis in Indonesia, the follow-up purchase has been delayed, but it will not be cancelled.
According to the initial contract of $760 million signed in193, Indonesia received 24 Eagle light attack/training aircraft (8 100 series two-seat trainers and 16 200 series single-seat fighters) produced by BAE in 196, and all of them were delivered to 65438+. The second batch of funds for ordering 16 single-seat 200 series was started in the fiscal year of 1996/ 1997, and will be used to form two squadrons.
1In June, 1995, Belgian Aircraft Manufacturing Company signed a three-year contract with Indonesia, amounting to US$ 40 million, to improve 12 F-5E/F fighters (8 F-5Es fighters and 4 two-seat F-5Fs fighters). The main improved components include the installation of head-up displays produced by General Electric Company and Marconi Company, LN-93 inertial navigation system produced by Litton Company, radar alarm system of air defense guard produced by General Electric Company and Marconi Company, 1533B digital data bus, new airborne data computer, storage management system, mission camera and manual throttle joystick.
At the end of 1993, three Boeing 737-2X9 reconnaissance planes were put into use, and Indonesia's maritime reconnaissance capability was improved. As a maritime patrol aircraft, Boeing 737-2X9 aircraft is equipped with Lipton Systems' APS-504(V)-5 search radar, Motorola's side-looking airborne modular multi-task radar, infrared detection system, friend or foe identification system and GPS global positioning system.
The Indonesian Air Force's plan to order six CN-235 aircraft produced by IPTN was postponed to 1997. According to IPTN, the Indonesian Air Force was postponed due to the financial crisis, with the intention of selecting complete sets of aviation equipment, search radar, forward-looking infrared sensors and electronic support measurement components.
At the beginning of 1995, Indonesia decided to allocate $60 million from the budget of 1998/ 1999 to buy two new aerial tankers to replace the two old KC- 130B Hercules tankers currently in service in the Indonesian Air Force.
