The Shanghai Armed Police Corps, formerly the Guard Brigade of East China Military Region, entered Shanghai with Comrade Chen Yi and East China Bureau in June, 1949. 1982 was reorganized into the Shanghai Corps of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force after nine name changes and affiliation changes.
