The monument is supported by the two-story Sumitomo Building designed by Lin. Eight wreaths, such as peony, lotus, chrysanthemum and hanging curtain, are carved on the four sides of the upper layer of Mixumi to show respect for the martyrs.
There are ten huge white marble reliefs embedded in Sumitomo Xiada's waist, eight of which reflect the revolutionary events in China's modern history. From southeast to northwest, it was the Humen Opium War, jintian uprising, Wuchang Uprising, May 4th Movement, May 30th Movement, Nanchang Uprising, Anti-Japanese Guerrilla War and the victorious crossing of the river to liberate China.
In addition, there are two decorative works "Supporting the Front Line" and "Welcoming the People's Liberation Army" on both sides of the "Victory Crossing the Yangtze River" in the north central part.
