Brief introduction of World Billiards Union
There are three main types of billiards, namely American billiards, French billiards and snooker billiards, and all kinds of billiards have their own international organizations, such as the World American Billiards Association. In order to make billiards enter the Olympic Games as soon as possible and be recognized by the International Individual Sports Federation, three kinds of billiards international organizations joined forces to form the World Billiards Union on 1992, with 97 members.
International billiards organization
There are two international billiards organizations, one is the International Billiards Federation and the other is the World Professional Billiards Federation. The World Professional Billiards Union is mainly committed to the development of professional billiards, and holds a series of professional ranking competitions in which professional players from all over the world participate, such as the World Professional Championships. National billiards organization
The highest organization of English billiards and snooker is the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF), which was founded in 1940. It is formed by the merger of billiards association and billiards club, and is responsible for organizing the competitions of these two kinds of billiards and making rules. The highest organization of international Karen billiards is UnionModiale deBilliard (UMB- Caron for short), which was founded in 1940. Its headquarters is in Brussels, Belgium, and its administrative center is in Barcelona, Spain. It has 30 member countries and is responsible for the world competition of Karen billiards.
Founded in 1948, the World Billiards Association (WPA) is the highest organization of billiards in the United States, with its headquarters in Chicago. 1965 Established 1 American Billiards Association Hall of Fame to keep important information and records of outstanding figures in billiards history. 1990, the above three world billiards organizations: International Billiards Federation, World Billiards Federation and World American Billiards Association were officially recognized by the Olympic Committee. According to the articles of association of the League, representatives of French billiards, American billiards and snooker take turns as the chairman.
