On February 9, 20 18, the 23rd Winter Olympic Games opened in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and the PyeongChang Winter Olympics officially kicked off, which lasted 17 days. The opening ceremony of PyeongChang Winter Olympics was held in Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium and ended on 25th.

This is the first time that South Korea has hosted the Olympic Games and Winter Olympics after 30 years. Following 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics and 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, the Winter Olympics was settled in Asia for the third time.

On February 9, 20 17 Beijing time, 365 days before the opening ceremony of the pyeongchang winter Olympics, the organizing Committee announced the theme slogan of pyeongchang winter Olympics 20 18: "Passion is connected!"

"Passion" refers to enthusiasm, love and desire. As the host of the world celebration, Pyeongchang will inspire people and convey the warm feelings of South Korea. The slogan expresses the Olympic spirit and the enthusiasm of South Korea.

"Connecting" means connecting, combining and communicating. Through Korea's cutting-edge technology and integrated culture, Pyeongchang will become a space where people of all ages can participate. Slogan means a new beginning, a harmonious world and a new world of the Winter Olympics.
