The Origin of World Health Day On July 22nd, 1946, the United Nations Economic and Social Council held the first International Health Assembly in new york, and representatives of more than 60 countries signed the Charter of the World Health Organization, which came into effect on April 7th, 1948. To commemorate the adoption day of the organization's charter, the World Health Organization was formally established at the first United Nations World Health Assembly held in Geneva in June 1948, and decided to designate July 22nd as World Health Day every year, encouraging countries to hold various commemorative activities. The following year, the Second World Health Assembly decided from 1950 that April 7th would be the global "World Health Day". Considering that schools in most countries have summer holidays in July every year, they cannot participate in this celebration. Since 1950, the World Health Organization has chosen a theme for World Health Day every year, highlighting the key areas of concern of WHO.
The purpose of setting up World Health Day is to arouse the attention of all countries in the world to health problems, mobilize people all over the world to care about and improve the current health situation and improve the health level of human beings. During World Health Day, all member countries of the World Health Organization, including China, held celebrations to publicize and popularize health knowledge and improve people's health.
