What does Jiaojiren mean in Chaoshan dialect?
One of us, one of us

Chaozhou dialect, also known as Chaozhou dialect and Chaoshan dialect, is the language used by Chaoshan people in Guangdong Province, the mother tongue of Chaoshan people, one of the three major Chinese dialects in Guangdong, and one of the oldest and most special dialects in China today.

Ji Jiao people in Chaoshan dialect mean one of their own, one of their own. Chaoshan people have a saying, which can be used as an obvious symbolic slogan different from other ethnic groups, called-Rubber yourself, it doesn't matter if you shoot yourself to death. For the sake of our own people, it doesn't matter if we paint our brains all over the floor. It means giving everything for each other.

history

Chaozhou dialect originated in Qin and Han Dynasties, formed in Tang and Song Dynasties, and formed its own independent language system in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. The main body is ancient Chinese in the Central Plains, mixed with dialects, and its phonology is basically the same as that of Minnan dialect today. Now Chaoshan people and Minnan people can still communicate with some simple dialects of life. For Chaoshan people, Chaozhou dialect is a bond to maintain feelings and has great cohesion. Especially in a foreign land, the local accent is the same, that is, "stick to yourself."

According to archaeological findings, the culture unearthed in Chaozhou is closer to the southern Fujian area of ancient human civilization, so it is inferred that the ancestors of Chaozhou were Fujian and Vietnam, and historical records also record that Chaozhou was under the jurisdiction of Fujian three times in the Tang Dynasty, and until the establishment of Zhangzhou, the jurisdiction was still Zhangpu County in southern Fujian. Therefore, Chaozhou culture has many similarities with Quanzhou and Zhangzhou cultures. It is difficult to have an absolute date about the formation of Chaozhou dialect, which is a long process. Due to the influence of the Central Plains culture, there have been two languages in history: one is pronunciation, which is called Mandarin, and the folk call it "Sun Zizheng", which may be close to the pronunciation of the Central Plains; One is local dialect, that is, local dialect. The former is mostly used for the upper class or literati, while the latter is mainly used for the lower class.

Due to the special geographical location of Chaozhou, although there have been several major language changes in the Central Plains (especially the melting of the northern minority languages), it has little impact on it, so Chaozhou dialect still retains a lot of ancient Chinese. Due to historical changes, some of these ancient Chinese have become local dialects because of homophonic or reserved original sounds, so they are called "living fossils of ancient Chinese" by relevant linguists.
